Hello, i'm looking for an old manga i once read for a little so my clues are a bit fuzzy. Sorry.
So, i remember it's an old manga with a lot of volumes (6+ volumes) i think most if not all is scanlated. The main character i THINK is a guy, and he gets a supernatural creature of fire i think (i THINK Suzaku the phoenix, not sure), i think the title of the manga might have something with fire or suzaku in it. I remember there are other people that have the other 3 supernatural beats (byakko, seiryuu, genbu). I think they are something like guardians or something.

Anyway i'll dismiss a few manga from the start, so it's not any of the following manga:
Yu Yu Hakusho
Ushio To Tora
Fushigi Yugi

Maybe it's Otogi Matsuri. It certainly has the four gods as a central theme.

Are you sure about the spiritual beast part? If not for the spiritual beast part I was thinking it might be Flame of Recca

When I started, i liked anime, but i found the awesomeness of manga a few years ago, so now I can't go back. Once you go manga, you can't go back. biggrin
