Ok, I've read most of the classics/the best of the genre/the most popular, so what I'm looking for now is an ongoing shoujo, that's fairly new. Let's say, something that started within the last 3 years or so. A gem that's not that well-known yet - this kind of feeling smile And the ongoing factor is important - i like stories longer than at least 3 volumes so please recommend titles that are or seem that will be longer than that.
Fantasy setting, school setting, comedy, drama - everything's fine, but romance is a must (if it's slow, it's even better, but i won't push for that) and it would be great, if the main female wasn't the useless-crybaby type. Romance can be a side-plot, but I want for it to be visible and not only hinted at.
It's ok if the genre is not shoujo, but only if the story is shoujoish, like One Week Friends, Horimiya or Koe no Katachi.
No shounen-ai/shoujo-ai/yuri/yaoi.

I would really appreciate some help smile

I've been looking for the same thing recently (and basically constantly) so I'll watch this thread with interest.

One that is kinda unique is Itoshi no Karin. Now, it's only 3 volumes long so it's not going to take you far, but it's something a bit refreshing to chew on while you wait for more responses.

I'll look a bit and see what else I can give you.

EDIT: Try Tonari no Kashiwagi-san - slow romance and actually another couple is more compelling than the first right now.

Would you like to try light novel?

Rakuin no Monshou
Its not a new story. Not at all. But its highly unpopular, maybe because of the war and political aspect, and I'm hoping that spreading the word will make more translator interested to pick it up. Quite sure that its not licensed in anywhere outside Japan... I had to find an Chinese fans translation web to finish the series. But let me tell you. It's effing worth it!

Slow romance to the point of I'm silently encouraging them in every chapter. and the princess is really as far from useless as possible. I know you will love her. biggrin

Like you, I've been looking for new series to read for quite some time so thank you for the suggestions - I will definitely check them out smile
Itoshi no Karin looks really cute - I love fluff biggrin
But It's actually surprising how hard it is to find such things isn't it? One would have thought there should be plenty of new stuff every year. My own finds are Haru Matsu Bokura, Tsubasa to Hotaru and Hoshigami-kun wa Douka Shite Iru, but that's about it. I hope there will be someone to help us ^^

This time I'm looking for mangas, but I will definitely add this to my plan-to-read list - I've never heard of this series, but the story sounds really interesting and if the heroine is cool I will give it a try smile Though unfortunately I don't know Chinese, so I will need to wait for the english translation to finish it.

Still waiting for more suggestions! smile
