What are your thoughts on it?

I liked it alot, but felt the ended pretty abruptly, I wished I knew what happened to some of the characters like Olivier, Cesar, Alice, Haeru etc.

The setting, I absolutely loved, the different planes, the trials, etc.

Still it left me with questions, not sure if I just skimmed past it.

-Like who was the bloodviolet fiend and why was his sword there?

-At the beginning of the story, we only saw Linley make a contract with a beast throughout the entire story also bugged me. Oh well.

Nonetheless, it was a great. Now onto Stellar Transformation!

The Bloodviolet Fiend was a soul mutate,seven-star fiend. It was hinted that he died in the Yulan Plane when Beriut used Sovering Artifacts to attract many experts from higher planes to the Yulan Plane where most of them, including the Bloodviolet Fiend, die in the Necropolis of Gods or fighting among each other.

I agree, the setting was great but the author could have developed the characthers more.
I`m also going for the Stellar Transformation now.

I'd have to agree the ending was kind of sudden.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I really didn't expect Linlei to play Sovereign politics or Sovereigns actually acted like humans do instead of say detached gods at the end. It kind of demeans the achievement of becoming a sovereign imo.

But if you look past that this novel is one of the best I've read. Its not easy to maintain the high level of quality writing over so many volumes and still not run into any noticably plotholes!

The ending was definitely abrupt! But other than that I really liked the novel.

The world was so cool, and the stuff he went through was just as amazing. I really like how Linley wasn't like some of the typical characters I've seen over the past year since I have started watching/reading manga/anime/and other stuff. Just like how he created his own empire, or became an elder in his clan, or how he actually got evolved in sovereign politics/worldly affairs.

I'll miss this series so much, now I can't wait to read some stellar transformations! However, I want at least vol. 16 to be translated before I even start it. biggrin biggrin

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned at some point that Beirut killed Bloodviolet. It's really a shame though, as the story hinted a lot about him and Linley even got to see a record of his fights, but we never actually get to see or know the real Bloodviolet. Even the sword is actually forgotten, though I did like the idea of the invisible sword, but the Overlord weapon was just overdoing it.

There are two things about this ending I really enjoyed though. First of all, there's no epilogue or anything, and the picture of Linley coming back while everyone waits for him is quite enjoyable in my mind, and it couldn't have been better, although it could have been done better. Second, and the thing I remember the best, is how the few last volumes hint about resurrection, for everyone but Doehring to resurrect, even when he gets to see an overlord and even when he's finally reached the ultimate state of power. While everyone coming back to life wasn't a really good idea, it did add more to the drama of Doehring never coming back. I would have really loved to have the impact of his death be more pronounced on Linley's personality though, it's like he'd forgotten about him until he learns he can resurrect people.

I think it is reasonable that he started to think about Doehring only after he got hint about possibility to revive him. Because before that he should tough that it is impossible and kind a come to terms with it. But then he got glimpse of hope and did everything to achieve that. I kinda liked that he could not revive him. Because his soul was shattered/vanished otherwise you could just revive anything witch would be total bull shit.
