This week's fun poll was from Caedis. Obviously we can only do text since it's manga...

A true villain instills fear with a mere smirk!
Just like a mastermind. Like a true evil one. Like a cold blooded one who loves to keep his plate clean, unlike the hot blooded heinous ones who love gore, torture etc.
Laughing with a unique sound is a Shounen(e.g. One Piece) trait anyway. In great Seinen, Silence Is A Virtue (sometimes).
P.S. If it sounds like I'm talking randomly...then, yeah, I sure am.

I like this poll. XD But, I've never seen/read/heard some of the laughter before. Like Hyuk hyuk hyuk?

An evil smirk all the way.

I am equally unamused as kitty to note that 1/3 of MU users don´t give a shit about the work the groups put in the releases or even truly care about the mangaka´s work as long it comes out but the written responses were all in agreement that translations shouldn't be fudged. I hope that our resident MU groups take note on that point.
Muahahaha is the ticket here as there is nothing wrong with giving a villain a god tick but a subdued smirk can be fun too. My favorite (heroic) comic book laugh is Blue Beetle and Booster Gold´s classic BWA-HA-HA-HA!
They had a depressing (yet well written) decade after 05´s Infinite Crisis but there may be a film on the way and they recently returned to the buddy comedy roots of the JLI days.
Good typesetting is lastly everything if you want a good dynamic laugh.
Edit: @scorpiowolf Someone get´s it. See how menacing laughing can be! The classic
The Killing Joke laughter is a simple HA HA HA and still unreached after nearly 3 decades.

for this poll I'm forced to chose other because my fav villainous laughter comes from Mark Hamill's version of the Joker, lol, anybody here familiar with the late 90's/early 00's Batman cartoons knows that the Joker's laugh is all over the place so it can't be pinned down to one choice.
edit:@residentgrigo: you've probably heard by now but DC is animating The Killing Joke as an R-rated animated feature with Mark Hamill supposedly onboard, now if they can get Kevin Conroy the awesomeness will be turned up to 11.

Can't stand this "fufufufu" crap in manga. It's simply improper transliteration due to disregarding the fact that there is no "hu" syllable in Japanese, so it's represented with "fu". It should have been "huhuhuhu".
Also, the poll is missing "kukukuku", of which there are plenty examples.

The R isn´t set in stone but this is how PG-13 looks like according to WB (it´s 16+ here) so we will survive ether way. DKR had to be slightly censored to get the PG-13 but Wonder Woman surprisingly got the most cuts! Troy Baker´s Joker in Arkham Origins was a delight but Mr.Skywalker is destined to return with the rest of them. He was even in the Christmas episode of Flash. Let's Put A Smile On That Face!
PS: The current DKR III is the best in-universe comic since Year One and Miller´s first good one since the first half of Sin City but it´s still only a C+ and Franky Boy plays second fiddle on it. He though decided to do DKR IV by himself. Mother of god have mercy on my soul!
Edit: @scorpiowolf Smith´s comics are the pits and Spider-man & Black Cat was the worst.

A true villain instils fear with a mere smirk, obviously.
Though if I were to pick an actual sound, it'd have to be "Fufufufu," which is what I consider the trademark evil laugh in mangaland. Or "Kukukuku," which I just noticed is missing from the poll.

HAH smirk is winning by a land slide. I voted it too but I don't think I was thinking about it when I answered. I was just really amused by the option and thought of it from the hero's POV i.e. a hero/ine who instills fear with a mere smirk.

' Hyuk Hyuk Hyuk ' is a lame Vampire laugh from somewhere and similar kinda undead may have got the same stuff.
Though I'm not really sure, if ' Woah oh oh ' is a villain laugh. To begin with, is it laugh or Cry?! LoL

Francis kinda botched All-Star Batman to me so his stock is low with me at the moment. I don't buy alot of physical issues anymore but I have those and I gotta say all the potential I saw in the beginning got flushed cause he was rushing to meet deadlines/re-writing scripts in addition to his movie projects. he was trying to do to many things all at once and ASB&R suffered for it, he should have learned from Kevin Smith when he jacked up his Spider-man & Black Cat book.
