I don't think Brand New gets as much love as they deserve.

And maybe The Blood Brothers. But their music is definitely not for everyone, so I can understand why they aren't as popular.

Comus- Their songs are mind blowing and acoustic based basically folk music with lyrics having to do with rape and murder
Atheist- Jazz fusion with death metal
Cynic - Jazz fusion with metal
Arcturus - Started as an Black Metal band then started to change to a kind of scifi theme
the Black Keys - A bluesy garage band
Deltron 3030 - Alternative rap with great beats
Ephel Duath - Jazz mixed with metal
Exodus - Thrash Metal band actually the Metallica guitarist came from this band
Isis - Post-Metal Band long songs and also experimental
Tool - Metal band with weird music videos but great music
Orphaned Land - Mix between middle eastern music with metal
Sigh - Japanese Black Metal experimental
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - Extremely experimental every song is different
A Tribe Called Quest - The first alternative rap group I heard
Ulver - Use to be black metal but changed to electronic

a tribe called quest established hip hop to a certain extent
anyone that knows anything knows tribe

I don't know many people who listen to hip-hop so I have a limited view on it being over or under rated.

Tool is in no way underrated at least not here anyway. Their concerts sell out in Australia in a matter of minutes and they have 3 songs on the next guitar hero.

terra diablo they have pretty good songs its rock i think
dont know if they are popular anywhere else but in my country they've never heard of them (me excluded)

i'd say kill hannah is pretty underrated, i never hear nothing about them, they're not up there with panic at the disco or something(who are huge)
