I'm looking for a type of manga that has a ordinary character that becomes the "chosen one"
Whether it's by prophecy or by someone finding and telling them.

Genre wise I think something with action is a given.
Not a fan of ecchi, harem type of stuff.

Charlotte (the anime) suits your criteria, but it does contain some tragedy so I'm not sure if it classifies as a fun read. And as I mentioned, it isn't a manga but an anime—which should still be worthwhile, by the way, given that it has such stunning CGI. Also, in case it bothers you, the protagonist is already special, and he knows it, but only as an individual. There isn't really any 'prophecy' involved either, unfortunately...but it's really good anyway.
