I'm a little taken aback that the redraw option is not the overwhelming majority of votes, since the poll asked about the preferred treatment and the redraw option is obviously better looking than the other options.

Being a scanlator, myself, I know how annoying some redraws can be. Double spreads are often easy enough, but there are also those that'll make you wanna scream ^^;
For example, this one took me a lot of time (that's from over 5yrs ago when I was still quite new to scanlating). Especially since I was still on an old, crappy PC and Photoshop crashed at least 3 times while I was working on it (yup, that's years before the automatic file saving option). http://www.dropbox.com/s/qckh1e3oqh8h67i/1.png?dl=0
So I can understand, when sometimes you don't have the time or will to make the spread redraw. But that's only for the tough ones - seeing scanlators skipping easy redraws annoys me a bit. Then again, I'm not sure if doing crappy redraws is any better...

In any case:

1. Please do make the redraws, if it's something you can handle.
2. If it's not, please align the pages correctly and leave the gap.

I'm totally against splitting the pages into separate images - it ruins the reading experience.

You can PM me if you need a temporary (freelance) cleaner/redrawer for some project. Especially if it's something with nice art.
Being the lazy person that I am, I'm not likely to accept anything long-term though.

I don't know which manga it was but I remember there was a two page spread several times in the chapter split up so I open two windows and lined them up side by side. It was really annoying because it, as you said, ruined the reading experience.

Redraw the middle part, then save the halves as separate images

Why?

Many sites resize pages solely based on width, so spread pages get 50% smaller. (unreadable text, lost details, etc)

My desktop reader puts them side-by side anyway. This is another reason for separate pages, because with 2 pages side-by-side it cannot deal well with the pages adjacent to a spread page (it detects a spread page and displays it as a single image).
