When it comes to anime and manga... <_< I'm basically an Otaku.... Yet, aside from that there's something that i could never forgive.... and that's when a Manga or Anime is discontinued or cut short due to it being unpopular amongst a majority of the readers/watchers or the author/publisher moved on with something else to do...

Some Examples... which I rather own or watch would be
Zombie Powder (manga) 4 volumes and Tite Kubo kinda just left it hanging...
Flame of Recca (anime) It was basically a season and it leaves off with nothing but the characters asking questions like there's gonna be another season.... ><
Ragnarok (manga) 10 volumes...ok... <_< I liked it a few years ago and remembered it not finished, and at the end of vol 10 they have a look forward to vol 11... >< it never came out...
Gun Blaze West (manga) 3 volumes... Same dude who did Rurouni Kenshin and Busou Renkin... Honestly I thought of it being a kickass western... Yet those whom read it in shonen jump thought the Plot was slow so it was discontinued... @_@

I'm sad and slightly scarred by the events

Well post your thoughts and what other manga/anime you found discontinued or unfinished... Yea...

Aaah, I hated the way they ended Flame of Recca! mad It's like they suddenly decided to end the series and tried to finish everything in 3 episodes. I guess the characters asking if there was going to be another season was also the question of the people who worked on the anime. It seems to me the people who worked on Flame of Recca were just as surprised as the rest of us.

As for a manga that was discontinued, I know of a few (yaoi titles). The first one is Last Client and it was dropped just when things were getting good. Another was Dragon x Boy that has been on hiatus for years now. Both Last Client and Dragon x Boy are from the same mangaka who I think was in trouble for copyright infringement. Last I heard, the whole thing had been cleared up and that was easily over a year ago. I really hope she finishes. cry

i hate that testostro (i know the spelling is botched up) was discontinued the story was amazing after you got past the first volume and the art was awesome combining berserks realism with echi manga style. but damn it stopped at volume 4 at practically a cliff hanger

Zombie Hunter ; Had potential. Then they just ended it with a horrid cliffhanger because the writer wanted to do something else. (Manga)

Togari : Just an open ending in general... I think it was because it was canceled, but I'm not sure. (Manga)

Blaster Knuckle : I was SO Mad for them canceling it. I mean, it was a bad-ass version of claymore! The writer managed to do the ending decently for an open ending though, so you do feel too outraged, although its still maddening. (manga)

Ah, I know how you feel. I've been waiting a number of years for more Yami no Matsuei but it seems the author has completely abandoned it.

Last I heard Myung-Jin Lee was still working on Ragnrok, though perhaps that has changed since I last checked.

I t is a bit frustrating. I now only read series that are completed to avoid this disappointment. I fact, I tend to read series that are already completely scanlated for the same reasons, because I don't want to read something the translators drop.

Edit: After reading others replies, yeah. I agree with last client. If you search hard enough you can find one more chapter that the artist did and just sketched, but it's better than nothing.

<_< Well it's been sooooo long since Ragnarok came out with volume 10 I could only think that he just kinda gave up or sidetracked with something else...

And I never know if something would ever be completed or not... I buy my manga when oppurtunity is there... It's an outta the blue moment so I never know that if they finish or not until the last volume... or I look up on Wikipedia...

Hmm, well I stumbled onto the series from the MMORPG Ragnarok Online, so I only started reading it a few months ago. This site lists it as an active project though. I'm hoping for more, but there is a Ragnarok the Animation that came out recently, perhaps he got caught up in that and has been a bit busy?

And now that I think about it, Under the Glass Moon is another series that they just left off on. It says there are three volumes but I know that only 2 were ever released here. I've been trying for years to get the third one, even if it's still in Korean, I don't care.

DN Angel.
I mean, yeah, now it's continuing and all...
But for the past 10928390212 years (exaggerating please)
I was just frustrated at how there's nothing after vol11.
It was my first manga that I bought and
to find that I couldn't finish my collection >_______>
Oh well... It was cheap. I bought it at the
Book Fair in Hong Kong. 5 volumes for 100 HKD.
So that's be like a little over 2USD for each volume. ;P

--

Another one I hated for a while was stupid HxH.
God... The hiatuses pissed me off soooooooooooooo much. o(=>o<=)o!!!
But... Hopefully he'll do something about it now... o(TWT)o

mouuuuuuuuuuuuuuu... I apologize that I wasn't talking about
discontinued manga. More of stuff that was on hold and then restarted after
1029382901 years. orzzzzzzzzz

<_< I just realised that Otaku's can actually be in discontent with anime/manga....

Space Time Rift Omega Abnormal Paradox maybe?
