What is wrong with the "romance" in this series? It annoys the hell out of me for some reason.
Also I've read up to chapter 175, so there might be some spoilers from earlier chapters in here.

There are a few things that bother me with Nie Li's overall character. First he is hundreds of years old with the physical body of a 14/15 year old. Yet he still acts so much more immature for his age even with all the knowledge and wisdom he contains.

Nie Li was blessed by the gods and slept with Ye Ziyun before she died defending him. He had never received that kind of attention, but how did he end up being head over heals for her after hundreds of years? Someone has to clear that up for me, I must have forgotten something??

A question for the people reading this, considering Nie Li is around the age of a middle schooler/high schooler. Why did he end up feeling so lonely losing his friends? The majority of people I knew in middle school, I honestly could not careless about them.

-- Anyway on to the topic at hand. Why does the author keep going from Ziyun to Ning'er? Every time he writes the same thing. "Ziyun couldn't understand why he was so in love with her when Ning'er loved him." "Ning'er knew she couldn't lose to Ziyun, she had to try her hardest regardless!"

This keeps going in circles, we all know the Ning'er ship has been doomed since the beginning. Not only is Nie Li in love with Ziyun, the author himself is in love with Ziyun for some reason. How many times has he had to point out that Ziyun is the only girl for Nie Li? I get it already!

I also feel Ning'er's love for Nie Li is really shallow. It reminds me of a medical soap opera where the doctor saves a girl's life and she falls in love with him only to realize that she was simply infatuated with the man who saved her life. Nie Li is Ning'er's god. He cured her, gave her a new path, and spoiled her with gifts. Sounds familiar right? That is almost the same thing with Ziyun.

Ziyun also has the same shallow feelings with the author constantly saying, "You should just get with Ning'er she loves you, but her heart was pained when saying so." Nie Li gave her a path away from Ye han (sounds awfully familiar to Shen Fei), he constantly gives her gifts, does her favors. Then she was moved with again the same medical soap opera stuff. Doctor somehow helped me (saved her father's life), I must strip in-front and offer my body so he can leave, again, go to Ning'er rather than me. While Nie Li refutes to sleep with her, she believes he is different. However, in reality he didn't want to take control of her emotions while also waiting for her to grow up so he can sleep with a more mature body.

Nie Li to Ziyun and Ning'er is their savior, and a godly like existence that can solve all their issues. It gets me wondering. As of now Nie Li has always been the genius to win other people's hearts. Meaning if that power wasn't there. The current relationship with Ning'er and Ziyun wouldn't exist, which is well known due to the alternate timeline.

Even in a recent chapter I had just read where Ning'er beat down Shen Fei, she thought "I NEED NIE LI'S HELP!" She obviously thought that, because he is her godly existence. It is kind of odd for me to say this in a fantasy type story, but there really isn't any down to earth feelings of pure interest in one another.

Last thing I thought I would say for fun, Nie Li's feelings for Ziyun is the same as Huyan Lanruo's feelings for Nie Li. Nie Li received attention that he never would have received from someone such as Ziyun. Lanrou always got what she wanted, when she realized Nie Li was unattainable and she had been rejected for the first time, she got a different feeling than usually. She actually became interested in Nie Li. Although, just like I said. If Nie Li was ordinary, Lanrou would've never put Nie Li in her eye.

A better title for the romance would be. The Circle Jerk Adventures: The One Dimensional Girl!
How do you guys feel about the romance in this series?

LOL! It was because of the stupid and annoying romance in the series that I dropped it. The romance was one dimensional and the female love interest was boring...she has no personality. I can't believe how MC fall for such annoying girl. He seems like a pedophile given he is mental age is more than 100.

Yeah, That's what makes it hard for me to read. The series actually takes itself seriously thinking it has good romance. It always brings up these "feelings" of the female characters, but goes nowhere. The main love interest is as bland as can be.

I get so much headaches when trying to make sense of it LOL
