If anyone is wondering how much some online reading sites with "free" manga earn here is a site with really nice estimates http://2compete.org/ - just put the exact domain name for example "xxx.me" in the search box and you get traffic and estimated earning and some interesting info like the domain registration place, where country from the most Traffic is comming etc...
I was curious for some time and here I found it by chance
I saw it and.. WHAT!!?? $379,127.41!! - DAILY Earnings!!!...from ads!

I don't think the revenue estimates on this site are accurate, since they don't even explain how they are generated. Just try to search for 'wikipedia.org' and you might come to the conclusion that you shouldn't value the earnings-rows on that page too highly.

Not all the sites are supported by advertisements. See Wikipedia for an example. Wikipedia needs donation from users even though it's one of the most visited website.
Or LINE Webtoons is also not generating revenue from advertisements. I have not seen a single advertisement ever since webtoons.com was launched.

I think the site uses an estimate based on visits to calculate potential ad earnings. I put in "Mangaupdates.com" and came out with $2,061.59/day. Now, please tell me how MU earns this much per day without any advertisements.

Explaining the IRA how exactly you make that money would be a bit hard, eh?

I do agree that some more explanation about hove the estimates are are needed
For sure the Alexa Traffic Rank and Alexa traffic data they quote and use for estimating domain value and revenue from addsa is well known and used by businesses. They use Whois records that is well known and reliable source too.
The main unknown is the estimation itself
I tried to find some info about it but it seems its not so easy.
If someone finds some more reliable source I would be very curious to have a look! Please share
Of course it only applies to sites that decide to use advertising - I dont understand why bringing the topic of sites that clearly do not use it??
If there is estimation for wikipedia or mangaupdates it only shows what the site could have earned (potentially) If they decided to post comercial adds.
I posted the earning number for mangafox before - they post adds - but yes - it needs more info about how it was done before being taken for good approximation - that is very true - I got overly excited quoting it as a fact. Thank you Baltha for pointing it out!

Mangaupdates.com receives about 190,325 visits and 588,103 (3 per visitor) pageviews per day which should earn about $2,058.36/day from content advertising revenue...
