in the margin, is fine with me.

i don't like it when they overlap them, it looks bad and takes away from it.

In the margins as well...because I can see them immediately instead of going to the glossary at the end to look them up or they are ignored...also It looks messy when put beside or on top of the original

Agreed, margins is the best way to take care of them.

I like the sfx to be translated into the margins. Leaving the sfx alone makes the manga feel a bit more originial, but you can still find out what they mean by simply looking into the margins. Also, it saves the scanlator some time and trouble since they don't have to erase the sfx, redraw, and then put in the translation. I guess putting the translation next to the orginal is fine, but it may make the scene seem "busy" and that hurts my eyes sometimes. How about you, Lambchopsil?

In the margins, definitely.
Or mostly anything besides replacing, I pity the poor editors and I think it gives off that weird feeling a comic has with "WHOOOSH" all around.

In the Margins or beside the original SFX.

I prefer beside the original sfx over in the margins, and those two over everything else. I'm too lazy to look through a glossary, like it when they are translated, and depending on the group, it usually looks messy when it overlays or replaces the original.

Left alone.
It's not like the English ones
sound any better and... I ain't
too concerned what noise something
makes.

i like to know what they say, but i don't reall like to get rid of the old ones. best if there is room and they are put next to the jap ones, but if it just makes the whole thing look crowed then they have to be put in margins eyes

Why put them in the margins? I mean, if there's white space in the background, it won't hurt the art in any way to put "sfx: [meaning]" right beside it, and you won't have to look over to the side of the panel to see the meaning, it's really close by.
...Oh, somebody said they look messy...

Somehow... having english sound effects in manga seems weird to me; besides sometimes there's a certain way the sound effects look which make the whole scene come together...
