Been a member of this community for a few years now.

Looking at the releases, I just suddenly realized close to half of the releases are all novels. *Personal note - novels have been on the rise the last year or two, and I've actually slowly transitioned from manga to novels myself, to the point where I only read 1 or 2 mangas now compared to 20 novels.

That being said I feel like novels should be excluded from this site. Isn't this called MANGAupdates? Why is anime not included with releases, but it's okay for novels? There are plenty of dedicated sites for novels. Shouldn't the goal of this site be dedicated to manga? If i'm wrong on that, then stop misleading people with "mangaupdates".

I personally come to this website to get updated on manga only, but with the release of so many novels it's a pain sorting through all the releases. It's to the point that I visit here less and less because it's losing it's purpose for me. Yes, I realize many also come to this site for novels, but I'm stating my view point.


My suggestion is simple. Removed novels from the releases page and website. If you want to keep the novels on the site, then at least separate them from mangas.


Not trying to start, a war. Not trying to spread hatred. Not even trying to start a debate. Just making a suggestion on how to make this site better. Up to you guys to make the decisions or not.

You can filter them out.

Go to User CP -> Edit Profile

There's an option there called "Types to Hide", then highlight "Novel"

Then click "Update My Info"
