I made my account specifically to ask this question, so any help would be deeply appreciated!
I've forgotten the title of a work that follows two men throughout their entire lives, up until they pass away. It begins with the unnervingly campy molestation of two young boys by their grade school teacher, who is later arrested. It comes to pass that by middle school one of the boys comes to terms with their homosexuality, as well as their feelings for the other boy, but the other boy is disgusted, immediately associating him with the pedophile who had molested them when they were younger. He cuts ties and they don't see each other for a long time. There are more developments throughout high school, but I'm a little more hazy on this. Eventually the two reunite, with the straight friend having had a child with his now deceased wife, and somehow the two end up together romantically, as a family. In the final scene one of the friends has died of old age and his lover is an old man, surrounded by their family. He suddenly sees the figure of his lover as a toddler, the age they first met, holding a ball and beckoning him to play. He's shocked at first, but eventually realizes the time has come for him to be with his lover again and rests his eyes one final time, smiling. The last panel is a mosaic of miniaturized panels throughout the entire series, through all of the happiness, strife and drama, overlaid by the beautifully haunting words "How long is a life?".
I've never read a boys love title as emotionally impactful as this one, and probably never will again, so please, can you help a brother out?
