i remember reading this like a few months ago and its driving me crazy because I cant remember the name. if you can help that would be great, many thanks!

From what I remember, the main characters were both in highschool and one of them was a really good student and his dad was making him take over the family business or something like that. It was just really important that he had good grades to the dad. And the other guy that guy 1 eventually got together with worked at his family's theater house or something? like he preformed there or took part in the plays or something like that. I also vaguely remember there being a male friend of the guy1 trying to tell him to not hang out with guy 2? or something like that. I also remember in the end they run away together and like the last few pages they come back to the town together as adults and while walking down the street the friend sees them and kinda remembers them?
