The BL/Yaoi manga scene is drowning in oneshots that all tell the same short stories over & over again, & their stories never go beyond the romance. I always figured that was why BexBoy & Biblos folded.

I'm looking for something long, spanning multiple volumes. It can be any of the following:
1)An actual plot & story, this will probably be a shoujo, jousei, or shounen series with an entirely male cast that is just really slashy & suggestive with bromance.
2)A love dodecahedron where there's so many characters interested in eachother you don't know who's going to end up with whom. At least the character development & plot twists make up for the lack of actual story.

Examples:
*Gravitation. (An young uke has to chose between perusing a tsundere writer who just wants to be left alone, & his budding career as a musician).
*Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki. (The "uke" changes his mind about who he loves, grows older, becomes a seme, & is chased by an old friend while chasing after his teacher, who has a thing for his brother, who's dating someone else).
*Ja-Dou. (Fantasy about demons & gods & friends with trust issues).
*Midare Somenishi. (A bloody samurai action tragedy).
*FAKE. (Crime drama, the romance happens slowly & doesn't overtake the story).
*Hunter x Hunter. (It's shounen, but it's the bromance is over 9000).
*Gensoumaden Saiyuki (A violent bromance-heavy jousei action adventure series. The 4 guys are intershipable with eachother & their enemies).
*LiLing Po (A fantasy series where the BL took a backseat to the plot & showed up unexpectedly little by little).
*Peacemaker Kurogane (A male harem story based on the same historical characters that inspired Gintama).
*Demon Diary. (Story-heavy fantasy with a soft BL subplot).

Moved to Yaoi/Yuri.

One of my own pet peeves with BL (and GL), really. I mean, why aren't they allowed to have a plot? Shoujo and josei romances, which are usually written in the same spirit, have plenty of plot! And it doesn't have to be long, they could do a reasonably good story in 4-5 volumes and still have space left for the romance/sex! Ugh. (But then again I think that in Japan BL is treated more like hentai, and those rarely ever have any actual story, either)

One thing to keep in mind is that older BL usually tend to be more plotty/longer and more complicated romance-wise than recent ones. But a lot of them aren't scanlated, probably cos the art isn't up-to-standard. Anyway! On to the recs:

This is a mixture of actual BL and heavily implied BL (I don't consider the kind of bromance you find in shounen/seinen to be BL-ish, though, so I didn't think to mention them here). Some of them aren't that long, but still quite satisfactory plot-wise. A few aren't completely scanlated, and may never be, but raws are available or they're licensed in English.
