The only rap I find myself listening to is My Life By Lil' Wayne, Ohh Ahh By The Grits, and Undead By Hollywood Undead.

Only good rap: TTGL soundtrack and especially "Libera me" from Hell. tbh, I like the opera parts better, though.

I hate rap...

...
How can someone hate rap, but like those three? none

There's alot of people who dislike rap but like certain rap artists. Eminem and Tupac seem to be two of the most popular among these people from what I've seen.

I used to hate rap myself, although I slowly turning around. Still prefer other genres.

I do like CRS (Lupe, Kanye, Pharrell) even if they only have two songs. Us Placers is brilliant.

@pump
I'm def not an expert but I'd say that Lil Wayne is rap. Maybe not some of his stuff on albums but some of his freestyle stuff is pretty cool.

i dont like that kind of rap..all you hear in lil wayne freestyles and songs is bitch bitch bitch

I know where you're coming from, but the same can be said about tupac.

true..but i dont like pac either

you mentioned nas, jay-z, and ludacris before. listen to nastradamous and the bravehearts album, volumes 1-3, dynasty, and basically all of ludacris' albums and tell me they don't do the same thing. point is countless emcees made classic albums off ignorant sh*t.some make it work, others get laughed at and mocked like the assholes that made laffy taffy.

I thought this was a thread for good rap. What's with the 2nd-rate and 3rd-rate trash doing in this thread? lol. Don't get me wrong, I listen to both mainstream and underground joints, but some of the artists mentioned in this thread are just crap.

Also, I see lots of people who don't know much about rap saying Tupac and shit, these days people think they know rap just cause they listen to Tupac. He's seriously overrated[he's decent, but overrated]. Go listen to Rakim and you'll see what I'm saying, even Tupac paid tributes to him in a song.

Most of the good stuff is from the 90's, like Illmatic from Nas, Reasonable Doubt from Jay-Z, Chronic from Dre, Ready to Die from Biggie, Doe or Die from AZ, 36 Chambers/Only Built 4 Cubin Linx/Liquid Swords from Wu Tang. I'm just naming the ones almost everyone knows though, there's a lot more. Guess why they called it the "golden-age" of rap/hip hop?

Anyways, I listen to anything good, but way too many to list, so I'll just put down the guys I bump most to which is: WU-TANG CLAN. Some of their new shit is wack though...just waiting on OB4CL2 =]

Good stuff.

I guess you already know how to protect your own neck from the poisonous paragraphs that can smash ya phonograph in half, whenever Inspectah Deck goes on warpath?

Guillotinez verse from INS hehe. Yeah, that verse is hot. I loved INS on Triumph though...i bomb atomically, socrate's philosophies and hypothesis can't define how i'll be dropping these mockeries...=]

Those 3 are the only classics from wu-tang everyone agrees on. I think Tical from meth, Supreme Clientelle and Ironman from ghostface are hot as well. Also Wu-Forever got some good stuff. Also Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version from ODB had some nice tracks. Some crazy nice shit from the 90's from wu. No Said Date is a good solo album from masta killa that came out in the 2000's though. Rza's Bobby Digital as Stereo was a fun album to listen to too. You listen to the vatican mixtapes? The stuff rae spits out on there is mad....if he keeps that up on OB4CL2 that shits gonna be good.

sick to my stomache tryin to digest the countless albums genius, killah priest, ghostface, and abot been putting out in the past 3 years alone. hell even that afro samurai joint was hot. can't go around knockin today's music cuz its there u just gotta look hard enough. like jay-z tryin to recreate reasonable doubt with american gangster. ain't even an issue about content nowadays the artists just not eating, like when U-God sued A-bot for 100k and when ghostface had to make a video on myspace beggin people to buy his album. 50 cent dissed wutang and the only person to respond was gza. they was suppose to combine and form like voltron on his ass. no unity no power and no mainstream hype what knocking them down. on another note, how many mo-fkkas in this thread actually own the albums they be naming? besides from dropping a couple verses here and there, you basically naming same group of emcees ppl been naming this whole thread subtract riding pac's john.

mixtape or no mixtape, this is marketing, cuban linx was the album that defined rae's career and he tryin to recreate that. imagine if how much hype it'd create if nas made illmatic 2. just skeptical, abot producin the album, and lets see if he can rape a J Dilla beat. lot of ppl startin to show they age, specially prodigy, but iono royal flush was on point.

I haven't followed Wu-Tang AT ALL since Iron Flag. That was a disappointing album to me.
Wu Tang Forever was a beast of an Album.
Bobby Digital was pretty dope too.

Well gotta admit, wu does get wack sometimes, and they just all focusing on their own shit, I would love to see another 36 chambers but it ain't gonna happen. I actually own the albums I mentioned though, and I bump em all da time. Well, I named the emceez that I thought were worthy of naming+most people know about[I mean the thread IS about what good mc's you listen to], there's tons more if I wanted to write down the whole list....I read the last few pages and I see some subpar emcees on there...and what's with people thinking wayne is the GOAT?[no offense, I don't listen or like him, but I don't hate on him, but he definitely doesn't come close to GOAT]

Rae's hype with ob4cl2 went down though...how long does it take to release a fucking album? He kept delaying it for some long ass time. Rza isn't as good as he used to be, some of his beats are sub-avg now, but a rza-produced album is still good no matter what. Yeah, mixtapes just get people up for their next release, just like U-god's new free mixtape from his website, but some of them have some hot joints in them lol.

ludacris catalog was definitely like that, even though he had like maybe 1 or 2 tracks on each album thats an exception, it was just recently that he started delivering some deep songs on his albums.try "War with God"

greatest asian rapper of all time, reggie noble. yeah yeah you know it.

blu was never bout impressing anybody with punchlines, it was his sincerity that made his album work. even if half the sh*t he talked about in the album never happened.
