Hello there! AOC Translations is currently recruiting lots of Cleaners, Redrawers, and Japanese Translators. We're a small group with that tries to balance quality with (moderate) speed, we've been around since 2014 and have had several popular projects such as:






We'd like to have some experienced scanlators onboard, anyone is welcomed to apply. We also don't mind trainees so give the test a try even if you've never done scanlation before! Your test doesn't have to be perfect, but you have to be diligent and ready to learn~ If you're interested in any of these positions, please download and complete the test. You can either apply though our website, or you can PM me your test. Please keep in mind that we use Discord to communicate, and you'll be required to have an account if you join.

Cleaner | OPEN | TEST |

Your job is to remove all Japanese text from the manga pages. SFX also require removal, unless we tell you otherwise. You’ll need to have a good eye, since you’ll be using the clone tool to replace missing textures. We are looking for cleaners with redraw ability. (Meaning you can redraw lines over the textures and text to make it as close to the original as possible) This is a job that requires a lot of free time unless you are ultra efficient. Please be prepared. Typically you will receive 20 – 40 pages of manga for cleaning every 2-3 weeks. Most of the pages are black and white, but you may receive occasional colour pages. Work should be saved in PSD format. Lot’s of disk space is required, chapters can get up to 2GB is size post cleaning. You will also need a file sharing account such as Google Drive, Drop Box or MEGA.

Redrawer | OPEN | TEST |

Your job is to draw back parts of the manga that the cleaner couldn’t do. While you won’t receive as many pages as a cleaner, or as often, this is still a time consuming job nonetheless. You are often left with bigger SFXs and bubbles with intricate backgrounds. You should have lots of experience with Photoshop, and perhaps a digital art background. Typically you will receive 5 – 15 pages of manga for cleaning every 2-3 weeks. Most of the pages are black and white, but you may receive occasional colour pages. Work should be saved in PSD format. Lot’s of disk space is required, chapters can get up to 2GB is size post cleaning. You will also need a file sharing account such as Google Drive, Drop Box or MEGA.

Japanese Translator | OPEN | TEST |

Your job is to translate Japanese text into English. You must understand intermediate Japanese, including cultural references and common slang. You should not rely on google translate, unless it is for technical terms. You must be fluent in English. At AOC, we go by the Queen’s English. While we don’t expect you to convert to this spelling if you’re used to American English, please do not be offended if you see alternate spellings of your translations on the final product. Recommended for students studying Japanese in a class setting. Typically you will receive 20 – 30 pages of manga for translating every 2-3 weeks in PDF format. You should save your work on plain text, or on a Google Drive document and format your script accordingly. Script format:
