'Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari' Receives Anime Adaptation

A flyer posted on Yoshimi Bookstore's official Twitter account has revealed that the light novel series Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) will receive an anime adaptation. A preview is set to premiere on July 1st at this year's Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California.

Synopsis
Naofumi Iwatani was summoned into a parallel world along with 3 other people to become the world's Heroes. Each of the heroes respectively equipped with their own legendary equipment when summoned, Naofumi received the Legendary Shield as his weapon. Due to Naofumi's lack of charisma and experience he's labeled as the weakest, only to end up betrayed, falsely accused, and robbed by on the third day of adventure. Shunned by everyone from the king to peasants, Naofumi's thoughts were filled with nothing but vengeance and hatred. Thus, his destiny in a parallel World begins... (Source: Baka-Tsuki, Edited)

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is written by Yusagi Aneko and illustrated by Seira Minami. The fantasy light novel initially began as a web novel series on Shousetsuka ni Narou website with 409 web chapters, until it began publishing under Kadokawa's Media Factory MF Books imprint in 2012. The series currently has 17 volumes in print, with the 18th volume to be released on August 25. The anime will serve as MF Books' first anime adaptation. A manga adaptation drawn by Kyu Aiya has been serialized in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine since February 2014. Both the novel and the manga has been published in English by One Peace Books.

I'm looking forward to it, but my blood will probably boil at seeing some of those scenes again. I'm going to have to wait until the season ends or I'm going to be salty!
