I love manga, I've loved the medium since I was 13. I'm 25 now; working a full time job but I still find the time to read manga in the morning. I like to think of it as my version of the morning newspaper.

Manga is becoming increasingly popular, as it has for the past couple of decades and there are more groups translating/scanlating than ever before. The only thing that irks me nowadays is the lack of proofreaders in groups.

It's frustrating to see a great manga get picked up by a group who may do a great job cleaning it up, type-setting, etc etc. I don't know how these groups are doing it, but it seems like they're just putting the text into Google Translate and pasting whatever it spits out and releasing the chapter.

Enough of my bickering though. I'm here as a freelance, just for fun proofreader. I received my B.A in English at the University of Houston in 2014. I'm actually a network engineer now, but that's a whole other story. I have A LOT of experience proofreading, whether it be in my college classes or even at work proofreading documentation that we've received from our brother/sister companies
I'm looking to work on pretty much any manga except for Yaoi/Yuri/Shoujo/Sports. If I'm proofreading I'd at least like it to be for a manga I would enjoy reading.

I won't be able to do a lot of work at a time, but give me the translated text in a word document or what have you, the raws so I can get an understanding of what's happening and let me do the rest.

You can send me a message on this forum, but it would be easier to just email me at hapakid23@gmail.com it's an old email of mine, but I still use it for stuff like this.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Great! I hope someone takes you up on it.

I have a history in editing and often thought of volunteering, but I'm probably too old to fit in the groups. Lots of scanlation groups SURE need proofreaders and editors though.
