Yes. Totally agree with the posts here >D

Naruto and Bleach! ah yea.. DOGS too. The art's good but the plot...is nowhere extraordinary but. hah, it's still better than other mangas out there.

and yea..I guess Habaek's Bride is kinda overrated. I like it too but...it's basically liek a soap opera and gets a little too draggish. Some ppl juz follow the manwha simply because of its art! ..would YOU read the plot is the manwha was poorly drawn?

and yea... Midnight secretary.. It's juz smut..typical officeXboss and add the Vampire theme in the plot.... nothing special really.

Vampire knight may be overrated on the first four volumes..(since it was basically juz a love triangle..) but the latter chapters are so dark and getting more complicated. I think it's slightly overrated but it deserve the popularity cuz it's getting better! =)

Naruto and InuYasha... and any other manga that has spanned over one too many volumes than it should have.

Moe Kare (Don't get me wrong it was good but
seriously some people took it too far)
Inuyasha
Naruto
Fruits Basket
Vampire Knight
Love Monster
Chobits (Or rather it use to be)
Full Moon wo Sagashite (It's cute and all but
some people were so crazy about it that you
could say one negative thing and they'd want to
shoot you in the face)
Uwasa No Midori-Kun

I'm sure some if not most or all will disagree
with me on some of these. Everyone has opinions xD
It's just that some were good, and yes I've read
them all or attempted to read them and got overly
bored with them, but people made them out to be
so much better or far more amazing than they
actually are or turned out to be.

If I think of anymore I'll edit this >.>

The whole DN Angel fan base may actually be coming back.
I heard that Sugisaki Yukiru was gonna begin working on it
again. Look forward to it becoming overrated once more >.>

I don't think any manga is too overrated. There are a lot of mangas with large fan base but they typically offer a lot more. Sometimes people complain about the simplicity, the predictability, or the fanservice in a manga but it is what draws in the crowd. Overrated is different from person to person based on their taste, if you dislike it but you see a lot of people liking it, you'll think it is overrated but it really isn't. It just isn't your taste.

Naruto, bleach, one piece for example. They have cliche elements similar to the older shounen adventures before them, eg. flame of recca, but the dark tones set by naruto, the epic battles in bleach, and the crazy antics in one piece is what keeps bringing in more and more people. They are actually quite typical in various ways, but it is because they play on what the audience wants, that is why they are popular. Just because they aren't the absolute most original mangas with completely original ideas, plot twists, and endings, does not mean they are overrated.

I don't believe mangas are overrated for one main reason, and that is because they don't let it get to their heads. They still produce good quality mangas, and continue to develop a decent plot that lures in people. If I had to choose an overrated manga, i would say Hunter X Hunter. The main reason is that the artwork is soooooo bad, that it is often mistaken for chicken scratch. The plot is very predictable shounen style, so it'll lure people in, but it lacks a visual appeal that could be considered lower than sub-par.

Now ANIME on the otherhand CAN be overrated. To me, animes become overrated when large series continue to have a heavy fan base even after chuking out 2+ seasons of PURE FILLER or if they have a minimum mandatory flashback quantity of 2 each episode. Anime can become VERY overrated.

The Dogs Series (I just don't see what so great about it, no offense. This is also another title that gets recommended to me alot, but I just don't understand what's so special or original about this series.)

Watch out for the Badou fangirls... none

But don't you think it has great/stylish art? Not only that, but it has a compellining and unique cast. How many chapters did you read?

Hmmm... I suppose the art is rather nice. But sorry, no offense, I can't really say that the characters are unique though... I've finished Dogs, Dogs: Hardcore Twins and I think around volume 2 of Dogs: Bullets & Carnage before giving up?

But daay-am, I do agree that Badou is one fine looking dude. It doesn't help that I always had a thing for red-heads. laugh

I second Battle Royale even though it was my favorite novel I really dont like the manga version and I seriously think like Monstar that everyone just liked the situation not really the story.

Boo! One Piece & Naruto haters, leave mangaupdates now. You're not welcome here. bigrazz

For me, the top one is Bleach. It disappointed me to the point where I stopped reading it about 2 months ago, and I won't pick it up until March.

The others would be Rosario to Vampire (Both "seasons" ), To-LOVE-Ru, Vampire Knight, Hunter X Hunter, Reborn! Air Gear...

There are more, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Love Hina. I have no idea why people think that every harem story is inferior to this piece of crap.
