The ending is definitely rushed. Tae dies and anyone who is related to Angyo Onshi has been killed as well, which brings a true end to that era. I wish we could have seen what becomes of Bandja and Sando in the future. cry

I wonder how the blond girl (w/ western type of clothes) was related to Munsu?

Marlene (the blonde western girl) was trained by Munsu when he was in the West.

As for the ending, I don't think it was rushed, so much as our expections were pretty high for a huge battle. I wanted to see more fight scenes with, Yeongsil and Mago and Mujang and Jung Son, but the story was about Munsu defeating Aji Tae, in the end.

I don't think it was rushed either, I think that was the way author wanted to express it in every way. The way that Tae killed almost everyone with that huge attack, showed just how strong he was, yet his strength was overcome by someone who's relatively weak in physical/power terms as munsu. I loved reading this, and it was really awesome until the end. I just want to see what happens to them and the world after this fight. I read in a forum somewhere that there is still an epilogue chapter after this which explains what happens after. I can't wait to read that.

More than rushed, things happened fast. Well, the last volume was good, the ending was good too. And well, the hero's fate was sealed.

Just so everyone knows the release by KORAB-scans has about 15 pages missing at the very end. SAO vol 17 is not completely out.

As a member of ETC I am sad to see another group put out an incomplete volume and state it is through the end. It is even worse that they put out this very low quality edit and proofing job and say that they "decided to go for quality and speed" (direct quote from [KORAB-scans]_Shin_Angyo_Onshi_v17.jpg). We at ETC try to put out a quality product and are sorry that we are not fast enough for some, but this is our hobby and we go at a pace that balances our love for our releases and our real life.

Ahh, well that's certainly a relief! ETC does have the best quality scanlations anyway, so no rush intended.

So that's why i really was feeling that there was something missing at the end of volume 17. Anyways, I still definitely will wait for ETC's awesome scans, and reread it all over again. No rush guys, we patiently wait for your releases and we difinitely still will. ETC and SAO rules.

For all those that did not notice, when looking at mangashare, there is a comment posted from a member of KORAB scans that says "Yes. The epilogue for this one is missing and addtionally a short side story after that. I can release all by end of this week. Check tomorrow or the day after tomorrow." This was posted on the 6th of June, 1 day before your posts about the missing pages. It was in response to a comment about a missing epilogue.

Just making a clarification. I thought since I noticed, I would share.

I dont think it was rushed, just fast-paced but very good. It closed beatifuly and the fate was sealed as is already mentioned. I admit that it was a bittersweet feeling reading the epilogue but thats how it was supposed to be cry

Although I wonder who the dude was. It;s clear to me that he wasnt confident when showing the medallion but he had the spirit allright...

A great series series that moved me...

PS Incidentaly right now as I am writing this I have just finished the last volume and my playlist (in shuffle mode from 1000+ songs) has played two cranberries songs (refering to the bittersweet feeling

I just finished this up, (thanks ETC!), and I thought the ending was great. It was fitting for the story and most everything was wrapped up nicely. Sure a lot of people died, but hey at least they died well and went to their heaven to "live" happily ever after.

I was really glad Chun Hyang, (Sando), came back to her senses and didn't get killed off though. I was a little worried about what they were gonna do with her character for a while there. Now she just needs her own spin-off series to better explain who/what she is. Any excuse for more Sando. biggrin

One of the best series I've ever read. Like most of the people here, I like the bittersweet feelings in the final chapter. It's tragic but Munsu really shows us the aura of a person who holds firmly to his beliefs.

Definitely ended well...for my opinion. A lot of sadness and despair will surely bring some good reviews...hero dies goes to heaven with his beloved and the rest go on living.

I thought this manga was beyond amazing when I first read it. It seemed to be like one of those stories that just followed the main character doing random things, like Eatman. But then, later on, it got a plot involving Aji Tae and whatever, and I thought that just made the manga suck beyond belief.

What was the worst part was that Sando joined Aji Tae! For me, that thought just killed my love for this manga, despite the fact that she becomes good again at the end. It's not the fact that she was evil that bothered me, but the fact that she abandoned Munsu!

And besides, the ending? It left a lot of questions...
