What is the best way to translate a dialect or accent of the original language that is not the norm (e.g., Kansai-ben)?
Different country's English accent (e.g., Irish or Australian)
Different American regional accent (e.g., Southern)
Have the character use different slang (e.g., 'pops' instead of 'dad')
Minor speech pattern differences (e.g., dropping the 'g' in '-ing' words)
No difference in translation but have a translation note

Forbidden Garden is currently recruiting staff!

We are looking for:
Translators (J->E, C->E, & K->E)
Dedicated Editors/Cleaners/Typesetters
Quality Control
Proofreaders


QC is the only position that requires an *experienced* editor in.

Our current projects are located here.

Our "future" projects are located here.

Also, we are interested in joint projects, but be prepared to provide a translator or editor for the joint (usually a translator is needed). You can find more about joint projects in our faq.

Just wanted to tell you that Ochibichan-scan already has Otome Sakazuni Chirunakare on their future/upcoming list ^_^ I personally am a staff there.

I am applying for the proofreading or editing position. I am very proficient with the English language that would enable me to do the job excellently. I am very keen with details, a quality that the job of proofreader entails.

You mentioned that you will teach us to get better in this field. I think it is worth mentioning that I have a passion for learning new things. I would be willing to learn the ropes of this trade.
