I put no but I'm really 50/50

action adventure or platforming is the other big thing(and fighting games). I really like a game where you just react after an rpg. And rpg battle wear carries from one game to the next.

I was recently looking at a list of up coming rpgs and there were only like two I wanted to play. The others didn't have anything that stood out.

A lot of rpgs for the DS are coming out and the truth is that they might cannibalize each other. People might be too tired(even if its a good one) to try the next.

Polite bump.

Why yes, yes I am. Very much so. 90% of the games I play are RPGs. Japanese ones, at that. Wha-? Don't judge me! I would buy other genres as well, but I don't have the money nor time to invest in them. So, playing only 'jRPGs' is kind of like this weird rule for me, to conserve time and money. .___.

Since this is a manga forum, it isn't surprising that most of the members mainly play jRPGs. You know, since it's from Japan and all, the country of animu and mango.

I am (was) an mainly RPG gamer. We can say that I'm a RPG gamer from the emulation generation. bigrazz

Except RPG I played textual adventures (they don't make anymore) or strategy games (but since when there is 3D I don't like them anymore) or managerial (I still play them occasionally).

I'm mostly an MMO gamer. Sooo, no. I used to be mostly an RPG gamer, though.

I completly play jRPG for the vast majority of my games, only having 1 game of other genres so I can take a break (one fighting game, one racing game, etc... for example)
Though, I don't have time these days to really play lots of video games, and even less RPG, so I only take a break with short plays of Touhou or Stepmania

Final Fantasy series.
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
Legend of Dragoons.
Pokemon series.
Golden Sun series.
Breath of fire series.
Lufia games.
Persona series.
Grandia series.
Suikoden series.
Xenosaga series. Including Xenogears.
Wild Arms series.
And of course the 'Tales of' series.
My favourite style as you can see is Console style rpg games.
When the prices of XBOX and PS3 stops been and armed robbery in Argentina I will expand my games universe to include those consoles.

Not yet at least. I think Dragon Age origins will have a pretty good shot in taking the RPG king crown.

More on topic. Whenever an interesting RPG is released I will buy it. RPGs give the most bang for your buck after all, with generally great replayability and lasting appeal.
Unfortunaltely there aren't all that many RPGs that are really interesting. Fable for example I find to be very lacking for an RPG. Fallout (1-3) and Oblivion however are some of my favorites. And I can't forget KotoR, Mass Effect and my personal favorite Bioware RPG in recent years, Jade Empire.
But since the RPG market is somewhat lacking (I hate JRPGs, I think these are more adventure games where you gain levels to be able to advance in the story, since often your characters are fixed to a certain role, while I want to choose my role. Please wait while I fetch my shield with a +50% fire protection) I tend to often play other types of games ranging from FPS to racing to action/adventure.
