recently I've aquired a taste for romances where both the main leads (couples) personalities are unusual or different. In particular, I like the ones where the guys personality is goofy/ niave (although not entirely idiotic) and the girls personality is different from the norm (as in, not dense, stupid etc)- it's kinda like role reversal but not quite.

Ones that I have read so far that are like this are Tamaki and Haruhi of Ouran host club, Yuuka and Taichi off Sugar Family (very similar to Tamaki and Haruhi off Ouran ), Yuiko and Leo of Beast Master and Sumire and Momo off Tramps like Us

The above situations are examples are when the male leads personality is somwhat goofy and the girl's personality has been different- whether it strong or somewhat cold. Suggestions such as these would be great, however, so long as the personalities of BOTH leads strike you as different from the norm in any way (and not just in appearance), any recommendations are very welcome.

The first two that come to mind are I Hate You More Than Anyone and Oyayubihime Infinity for that kind of setup. Kimi ni Todoke and Ringo Nikki could be a fit too, and Gokinjo Monogatari...

Akuma to Love Song has a really interesting/different lead girl. The guys are not as glaringly "unusual" but still plenty interesting.

Oh, Aishiteruze Baby? The romance is not the main focus of the series, but it's certainly a focus. The main guy is kinda silly/irresponsible, and the focus of his affections is more of a cool, quiet girl.

These are all series I love a lot (I've found I also have a preference for series with goofy guys...) so hopefully you enjoy them too!

@Iys- thanks very much as well, particularly with Aishiteruze baby and Oyayubihime Infinity, which have the types of characters I was looking for (and they have a good stories). Sadly, I have become a sucker for the goofy guys in stories, .

If anyone has any has anymore suggestions that feature unusual leads (particularly with a pair which I decribed above), that would be great!

Going by "unusual leads", all these have goofy guys and somewhat grounded girls ...
swan lake, cynical orange, peach girl, Monkey high....
