For my visual novel I'm working on, I wrote as a joke that I might be adding a boy-love route in it for all the girls out there, and then I got a comment about someone supporting me with it and wanting me to put it in. So I figured, "Ok, let's give it a shot!"

A day later, I realize I've never read a boy-love manga before, or seen a boy-love anime, so I wanna ask what was your favorite boy-love manga and/or anime? What ones should I read or watch if I want to see what they are like?

Thanks for helping me out!

I don't do boy-love or shonen-ai or whatever you call it...

Just draw Hayate in a cat suit.... should be more than enough.

You have to wait for the Yaoi fangirls to log on.

*rumble, rumble, rumble*

... Oh wait, I already hear them coming. laugh

From lighter ones, that won't have you screaming and gouging your eyes out: Liberty Liberty, Adult's Problem (contains more serious issues, it's quite good), Hatsukoi Yokochou, Kamakiri (a bit, okay, a lot darker than the rest of my recommendations), Self Portrait, You're So Cool (a shoujo, but one of the side characters falls in love with a man. Nicely developed). Most of those (all, I think) are shounen-ai, so. Good luck with your novel!

Personally. I like the straight guy / gay guy scenario (1 putting the moves on the straight one, and the other rejecting the advances / completely oblivious) best, whether it's comedic or yandere... XD I guess this would be sorta the male version of tsundere, lol. Here are some of my favourites:

Shounen-ai (aka safe for guys to read, I mean some straight guys do read some of these titles, and alot of the BL love is quite subtle or just being made fun of...):
Kyou Kara Maou
Gohou Drug
Goraihou Gakuen e Youkoso!
Kamisama Shinkaron
Keep Out (KISARAGI Hirotaka)
Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!
O-Guts!
Shibutani-kun Tomo no Kai <== subtle?
Tokaido HISAME
Yami no Matsuei
Tsumikabatsu
Yuigonjou Yori Ai wo Komete

Yaoi (aka straight guys should not read this unless they are completely mentally prepared)
Gokujou no Koibito
Love Neco
Sanjuuichiya
The Tyrant Falls In Love
Totally Captivated
Zion no Koeda <== warning: hardcore yandere!!!
Forbidden Toy

Also since you want to create a malemale ending in your girl harem dating sim game, I'd suggest checking out the Clannad and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya dating simulation games because both have mostly girlboy endings save for 1 boyboy ending for the fangirls.

Hope these help, and if you ever get around to reading some of these titles I would love to get your opinion on them. eyes
