^ .. sorry, don't know who Kana is.. ;___;

But yeah, not hoping for much romance, just praying to God that they'll end up together at least!! @___@.

I'm the kind of person who often enjoys hints of romance as much as or more than a full-blown romance, whether the very subtle kind or the not-so-subtle kind (like in Y-kun to M-chan). Possibly because I'm a fanfiction writer, so I like to be able to imagine and lay down my own action in that department. laugh

But anyway, I like how it's been so far. As others have mentioned, the series really is more comedy-oriented than anything else, and I think straying too far from that might take away from it. But I also think that there could/will be at least a little more development in that direction, and that if the mangaka is skilled enough, he/she should be able to infuse the unfurling romance with enough humor to keep it in tune with the series' zany atmosphere and not get too mushy or anything.

So yeah, I look forward to both the romantic hints and the jokes.

This is not listed as a romance but tags not always tell the full thing. Medaka Box is listed as a romance but up to chapter 13 there was no such thing.

Yankee-kun has more romance than Medaka Box even if it is not tagged so. So don't look too deep into tags.

Lots of hinted romance in the story so far but the characters have yet to act upon their feelings. So far the story seems to be building up the tension and hopefully soon enough it will all be unleashed: romance, mystery past and everything in between...

The tension. Is. Killing. Me.
Especially with these past few chapters.
Why are they both so...
Argh.

Love this series.

There is not much romance, because it is more humor oriented.

This is the ending information, so don't read it if you don't want to know what happens...

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It never goes ANY where in the romance department. Adachi disappears in the like the last volume. There's not any closure. There's no affirmation. Just Shinagawa's raw emotion at having lost Adachi and how she's no longer there when they graduate HS and start college, esp. since they were supposed to start together. She reappears for a few pages at the VERY end to tell him that she's a student again because she didn't graduate. This time, however, he's a teacher at his old high school.

I nearly vomited blood in sheer rage over this manga... it went on my "Escaflowne" list of "manga/anime whose endings PISS ME OFF." Read Gokusen or GTO instead. At least there are endings... mad

it probably only gets romance subplot because there wasn't kiss or something, and there wasn't a solid "end". still it was fairly romantic, far more meaningful than many other mangas that get romance tag.

it's a worth read, just don't expect cliches. tbh, thinking about it the ending is awesome even as romance. it's a big pity though that it has to "end" at that point.

there is romance.
