like i said, "he did a good job". And yes bale, i'm gunna say this, sucked. But i dont' think the craze would as much as it would if he was alive. much less the box office sales. lets say in the spider man 3, (main guy who plays spider man), dies, i guarantee you the box office would be off the charts.

Yeah, but only to see what a folly his last movie was. People are going to see Dark Knight because it was good. Even if they only realize it after the movie ended. They aren't going to leave with a bitter taste in their mouths.

I'm sorta tired of the "Heath Ledger" crap. It was a great movie, sure, I'll give you that, and yes he did a good job on Joker's part. But seriously, if Christian Bale died instead of Heath Ledger, I guarantee everyone would talk about Christian Bale's role not Heath Ledger. Also 1 major let down in the movie, were the fight scenes. Very unclear. Too slow. And horribly planned.

About the only thing that would be different if Heath was alive is that people won't be talking about what he could have been. The praise he is getting for the role he played is well-deserved. Plus, it is wrong to say that he is only getting the praise because he is dead. That's just disrespectful. That'll be like me saying, 2-Pac and Biggy are only famous because they died. The fact is they each did something before they died. Heath may have only had one really great role, but it was something, and he is getting the praise he deserves. And Christian Bale, although I do not believe he sucked, would not have received the same amount of praise because tell me honestly, what stood out more during the movie. What Batman and Bruce did on screen, or what the Joker did? Most people who saw the movie would say that they were on the edge of their seats waiting for what the Joker would do next. That's not because Heath died, but because he played the role to perfection.

Uh 2-pac only became famous after he died. Sure they did something great while they were alive, but were mostly apreciated when they died. Like van gough, and his paintings. Like I said, he did a good job, and critics would talk about him, but the common film goers wouldn't be "raving" about him, if he was still alive.

I have watched this movie and I must it is amazing.

Some of non-fan based people say that everyone payed attention to heath ledger was because he died. I swear I didn't know he died till after I watched the movie and still I was almost dancing about the stalls during intermissions without being able to suppress my excitement to know what the joker will do next.
I see that many batman fans say that heath ledger is nothing compared to the nicholson when he played joker. I saw that movie and I must say it is the past! Move on!
The only average role played in the movie was by christian Bale and I can't blame him for that since there weren't many exciting dialogues given to him.

Now I can't just stop saying the words- Why so Serious! biggrin

The pencil trick was nice, I liked the initial bank robbery scene too, the ferry incident, the police station bomb-blast and some more.

As for two face, Liked the coin toss he does in the mob-boss's car and kills him.

I must say, Gordon was great in this movie. The way he handles the van when joker tries to kill the DA was fabulous.

^^^^^^ I agree with sandman 1008 and also wanted to state that I didn't know Tupac was dead till a month ago ( eek ) when I asked my friend is there a new album on the way since I liked his songs when the friend of mine gave some of his CD's to listen to. All I had heard of Tupac was in jokes, like the one in Meet the Spartans

The only part that I thought Bale did wonderfully was
Spoiler (highlight to view)
when they were closing the place with all his gadgets, and said that his when he turn himself in, that it was all the butlers idea
I thought the writers were brilliant, and that Heath Ledger did a good job doing the part. I still hate the "which joker was better" crap. cause both are brilliant actors. The script given was different. Plus Nicholson would be to old to act in the Dark Knight, so in essence Heath was the best choice.

I'm kinda getting sick over hearing all this praise for Ledger. I wonder if people are being overly sympathetic just because he's dead. T_T
Regardless, I'll be going to see this soon enough I guess, since I do love The Bat. I still wish they made a Gotham By Gaslight film though.

Seriously, at least watch the movie before you start judging whether Heath Ledger is getting unnecessary praise. After you watch it, then you can judge fairly. I'm not saying you'll agree with the praise (Everyone is entitled to their opinion), but at least then you'll be able to fairly make a judgment on his performance.

Well Sandman (fan of Gaiman?), that's what I intend to do. I'm just saying it seems like he's getting a lot of that kind of praise, but my opinion isn't really justified till I go see the film itself.

Just make sure to take the criticism outta your head. That way you can enjoy the movie. I agree with you that he is getting unnecessary stuff ( like a rumor of an Oscar nomination ). I dunno whether he deserves it but I just hope you enjoy the movie.

I was very sceptical about Ledger as The Joker, as I loved Jack Nicholson in Burton's adaption. But I can safely say Ledger BLEW not only Nicholson away, but every other comic book movie villain.
I'm not easily swayed by emotions, but the dude gave me chills with his portrayal as The Joker. Almost single-handedly made this movie what it is.
Honestly, I didn't knew the guy had it in him.

It's not a fair comparison. Think about Heath Ledger playing the Joker in the Burton films and Nicholson playing Joker in the new film.

I admit, the Burton movies are far more comical.
But I don't care.

Batman is bad. He's annoying, clueless, moronic, binary minded and very immature.

The movie is too long, at one point you are clueless about what's going on because it really gets complicated (two-face drama angry at the police)

The joker actually puts on a good show. Watching him manipulate weaker minds was my real pleasure during this film.

The soundtrack is typical refurbished Hans Zimmer & Howard stuff. It actually has a good feeling of grandiose attached to it but it's not enough to impress me with the feeling that Batman is a great justicier.

I could go on but I don't like to write in english.
It's still a lot better than Batman begins, which was a total failure since it relied on the performance of batman.

7/10

your batman bashing is baseless. Of course all superheroes will probably have binary thought patterns that hows you save the day. You cant be stuck up on emotions and feelings when people are counting on you to save their lives but its the ideals that define Batman that guide him. Thats basically the underlying conflict between joker and Batman. what human instincts defines people when they're put into primal situation. Chaos and immorality vs. order and ethics. But the movie had some major flaws. Mainly two-face the character was necessary but the whole concept of him was stupid. If he was on some vendetta against the people who were involved in the death of rachel then why not kill joker he had the gun to his head fuck the 50/50 bullshit
