:} At least he finds eternal happiness in the end (Not spoiling it, because come on, it's obvious he has to die someday). But yeah, once you finish reading it there's several pages of a scene after he's dead, and it's beautiful. Makes you happy for him, like he's finally at peace.

i think you have not completely understood the real purpose of implementing all the sadness behind the protagonist Shin Angyo Onshi and his past. It is this very quasi-permanent sadness and hardship in his life that have enabled him to pull himself out of the dream he was trapped in when he injected himself with the ******** no spoiler from me here wink If he had found a peaceful time in his past, he would have not been able to come back to life. Also, this story doesn't have the expected classic happy ending either, so the dark past of the hero and the dark times he lives in, meddle together perfectly to give a dark and dangerous atmosphere that prevailed in the manga. As for the guy, i wouldn't feel bad for him. He did have one of the most beautiful women in the story and she gave up her life at his side, which was some tough love. I was personally very touched and quite frustrated by this moment when Munsu's lover was dressing up and making herself beautiful again when she heard Munsu had entered the castle, right after she was raped by the very man that married her but turned out completely different from what she had thought. She then killed herself saying she was sullied and didn't deserve his love anymore. I mean WOW... just go read it again, and you will know that Munsu isn't so unlucky as we might think. Plus, he was the greatest general and was bestowed the Legendary title of his time. It must have felt a little bit better for Munsu, when he was awarded so much fame and respect

It's like a fucking car wreck.

You are appalled and disgusted, and terrified, really, if you identify with the characters in any way, and yet you can't look away.

it was epic... that feeling it gives...
well the end for me it was something like the peace after the storm... no matter how many clouds the sky has, it doesnt change the fact that behind them there is a nice blue sky biggrin

Just wanted to clarify that the man that she married was Aji Tae and not the King of Jushin since he died since his first meeting with Aji Tae, so the person that raped her was Aji Tae. And the reason she killed herself is not really because she was "sullied and doesnt deserve his love anymore", she killed herself because she truly believed that by sacrificing herself she would be able to cure Munsu of the disease he took upon himself to save her and in some ways she was right, even though the disease remained, her death provided the immunity to Aji Tae's power which was the driving force behind Aji Tae's fear of Munsu and in the end the reason that fear lead to Aji Tae's death even though he could have easily killed Munsu in the end had he not been frozen and bound by fear.

i think this manhwa is great

munsu is one of action manga/manhwa protagonist that didnt have superpowers/over the top martial arts and up until the end he didnt have any of such thing, his subordinate on the military have superior martial arts than him,

he just keep fighting for what he believes in, even though it pains him so much (like the arc with his lover sister)

on the outside he is a what you call antihero, even you can call him bastard. but in the inside he's a true man uncorrupted even from all the painful events in his life

and the background story arc, man, after you read it youll understand why munsu became like that in the outside, not to mention you get to see one of the greatest and most charismatic general in manhwa/manga.

put it short, if i see a man like this in real life, id fall in love with him, even though im not gay.......

Ahhhh...I don't know if I should continue reading the manga or not! I don't like depressing stories, since they take a lot of time to linger around in my thoughts and cause me to be depressed. But it seems like a good manga, I've heard its a good read. I'm only up to chapter 5, and I'm scared of the tragedies still to come.

I have started to read this manga and so far its not too bad but I am getting worried from all the comments. I just finished the part on the island where everyone was the walking dead.

Certain things depress me more than others.
Sundome http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=11316
almost made me call my doc for some Xanax (Speaking of which I do need to call him for some refills of my anti-depressants lol).
That manga was the most painful I have ever read.

If you can, would you be able to check out my completed list to see if Shin Angyo Onshi compares to any of those.
http://www.mangaupdates.com/mylist.html?id=305569&list=c omplete

I don't mind people dying off, I could care less if the guys die off, but if there is a serious romance/love and the woman dies that might get to me. I think it's the slow deaths that really effect me.

I think Shigurui http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2304
might be the most comparable to this manga.
More detail about the sadness would really be appreciated since I really want to read this but a repeat of Sundome would just suck.
Thank you
