How doing so makes me a vegetable makes as much sense as Pumpkin's posts.

I'm pretty sure 狂気 means to say that we are indeed all animals, because we actually are.

And that points out the reason why this:

Because you replied to my post, but I guess you did that by accident then.

Well, well, well, have a look at Mr. White Knight here.

I understand that you're trying to stand up to a "bully" (ie. Me, the vegetable), but let's have a look at what you're trying to defend here, because according to you
Quote
Pumpkin has been fairly logical in her arguments while you've yet to give a single logical argument but instead have only been attacking her.

ORLY?
By logical do you mean that she doesn't make any assumptions, or isn't biased towards her opposition to make her war on shaving hair more valid?

Keep in mind that (assuming you've read through our entire argument), my main problem is with her initial statement
Quote from -Pumpkin-
I'm for hairy girls because it's HYGIENIC!

Quote
We have hairs on the pubic area and on harmpits because these are parts of the body that tend to warm up a lot more and cause sweating.

And here I thought they tend to warm up a lot more because hair grows in those regions as a part of human evolution to keep us warm during the time when we didn't have proper clothing and central heating wasn't a thing.

But nay, Sir White Knight, She won't accept this explanation because it isn't one that is neither scientific nor is it coming from a member of her Feminazi party.
Quote
But I'm seriously done with everyone who don't want to believe the SCIENTIFICAL FACTS goddammit. =| (Not mad, just thinking... documentation is best)

and all because
Quote
people THINK that it's more hygienic to shave, but it's not

I think it's more hygienic to shave because it prevents me from allowing more surface area for bacteria to be trapped and grow (and thus causing MORE body odor)...but apparently it's not.

What do I know, right?
For I am but a vegetable, and you, Sir White Knight are clearly more enlightened than I.

Quote
The hair role is to hold the sweat to let it evaporate after and let your pubic area and harmpit warmness cool down. When you shave, your sweat can't be held by hairs and is absorbed by your clothes and so, you have no more cooling! So, you sweat A LOT more.

Because, you know, clothes that soak up your sweat instantly dry up and not hold on to any moisture whatsoever, and that having more ventilation does not help you keep cool.

Because sweat that is held by your hair is protected by an Omega class force field that prevents clothes that comes into contact with them from absorbing said moisture.

Because we all wear skin-tight clothing 24/7.

And then we get to the part where I make an analogy of animals licking themselves/each other which in turn, gets hair in their mouth as a reply to her statement
Quote
Yeah, sometime we think it's a bit disgusting to have hair in our mouth, but it's a natural problem.

But apparently making analogies is an alien concept in Quebec, so she misread it and assumed it as me calling hairy people "animals", to which I made a simple ASCII image of her missing my point.

This is what you're defending? Your "sad" comment? Back at you, buddy.

Everything I said you either dodge or are incapable of understanding.

Okay let me make a few things more clear for you to understand. First of all "Mr. White Knight" is wrong on so many levels. It seems you've comprehended nothing at all. Secondly, drop with the vegetable stuff already, either you didn't understand it even after it was pointed right at you or you just like to make yourself appear dumb.
By logic I basically mean in opposite of you. Let's assume you're right about everything and she wrong. That wouldn't change in the slightest the fact that she's being more logical.

If you expect me to read your whole argument you should first try following your own advice (referring to what you said next). Also, don't expect me to read your whole argument.

No one missed your analogy. It wasn't an analogy. And even ignoring that, whether it was an analogy or not, it was stupid. No one missed your point. You failed to make one.

My "sad" comment? Two things you need before you're ready to send it back at me: get it, and counter it.

But perhaps the reason why even with all that text you managed to say nothing is because you missed one important thing: never once did I defend any of her views.

arguing on the internets...! so noble...!

honestly i think what pumpkin was essentially trying to say was that shaving sometimes sucks for both women and men (ugh razor burn/wax burn/chemical burn/cuts) and if they feel like they don't want to do it, then they shouldn't feel bad or judged for stopping. we haven't evolved out of hair for a reason, after all. and if someone judges you for not shaving, fuck them. end of story.

i shave my legs in the summer and armpits year round and tweeze my brows regularly and keep other areas trim. but that's it and i'm not doing anymore if someone feels bothered by it 8D

i don't care too much about hair on other guys, although i don't like giant beards or very long hair. also *certain activities* require a completely shaven face, nothing to do with aesthetics if you know what i mean.

I'm honestly curious, what are those activities? It can't be cunnilingus.

Only thing I wouldn't want on a guy is back hair.
If other parts are shaved, that's cool, I don't care either way.

I don't like hairy guys sad
By that I mean, I like guys who are naturally not that hairy
I also don't like beards. Mustache-only is a total turn-off.
But a bit of overnight stubbles are fine...

@Scyfon

I thouhgt your pictures where funny and entertaining, but it's true you only use them to denigrate me and they don't hold much sense and aren't good arguments either.
At least I am not susceptible.

Quote
Pumpkin has been polite and fairly logical in her arguments
Yes, I've always been polite to you and you're not imagining how hard it can be with all the bullshit you're saying.

Actually I'm gonna stop a little bit with beeing polite and say what I think: How old are you? Definitely not 23 as you say. Which crappy school let you pass your philosophy and sociology classes?

So, because my initial statement didn’t please you, you felt the right to personally attack me the rest of the convo. Mature.

And here I thought they tend to warm up a lot more because hair grows in those regions as a part of human evolution to keep us warm during the time when we didn't have proper clothing and central heating wasn't a thing.

Okay, let's evaluate your argument:
You say hair grow there to keep us warm as part of evolution. Wow, sure, everybody knows that your fucking armpits are the most important regions of your body so they have to stay warm thus evolution did this special treatment. No, just no, dude.
Hair stayed on our heads for this reason (to keep it warm)
It couldn’t possibly stay on our armpits for that because they already warm up a lot alone cause they are closed areas and they aren’t, as I said, a part so important that it would be absolutely needed.
Don’t you think chest area would have been a better idea? Because there is the heart, lungs, and all important organs. Yet, we don’t have as most chest hair as armpit or pubic hair.
So why did hair stay in these regions? For the exact reason I repeated and repeated and repeated. Hygyenic and natural heat control by sweating reasons. And I already explained it to you many many times. You are the wall for not wanting to understand. If you have the memory of a gold fish, go read back what I wrote previously.

Quote
She won't accept this explanation because it isn't one that is neither scientific nor is it coming from a member of her Feminazi party.

I’m right to reject an argument that is not scientific. It means it’s not proved.
It looks I know more about evolution and science than you do
You definitely are a man who hates Feminist. And the main reason is because you know nothing real about them. Plus, I already explained that I’m not a real engaged feminist but I respect some values they defend and I’m not a feminist as you see them: hating men and saying they’re superior. First, this conception is false. Second, I love men. :3 Third, I defend equality for both gender and I never put one gender above the other.
But you know, I’m getting tired of you. I already talked long enough about it.
My job here is mostly repeating things I already said. Go read my previous comments, again. You decide to ignore what I say, you decide to rejects my arguments, you decide to stay dumb. You put a great show.

I think it's more hygienic to shave because it prevents me from allowing more surface area for bacteria to be trapped and grow (and thus causing MORE body odor)...but apparently it's not.

Sigh. That too was already debated longly. Go read the previous comments! God, you never learn.
And if you want to celebrate a bit, I’ll recall you that I admitted being partly wrong when I wrote that and I changed that quote for a more veridical one. It’s true it’s hygienic not to shave, but shaving could also be hygienic.

Quote

Because we all wear skin-tight clothing 24/7.

You are deforming my words. A kind of argument a 10 years old could come up with.
-What I said is true, the phenomenon of evaporation induce cooling. The hair keep that phenomenon near your body.
-Clothes don’t instantly dry up, but the phenomenon of evaporation is further from your body
-I never said clothes wouldn’t absorb sweat if you have hair, but at least, hair help
-You are totally inventing the skin-tight clothes sentence out of nowhere

Quote

I perfectly understand analogies, but it was a bad one and that’s why I answered like that, to make you realise.

Nothing happen for no reason in evolution. If we still have hair, it’s for a reason. Now, you can decide to follow the mode if you want, it’s your own very choice. I was just talking about the benefit of keeping them but you don’t HAVE to if you don’t want to because, hopefully, keeping your hair is not a matter of life or death so if you follow the mode or not it’s okay. There was a time people were shaving their eyebrows because they thought it was ugly to keep them (just like right now with pubic and armpit hair). I could have talked about the benefit of not shaving your eyebrows by saying they are important and protect the eyes. You could insult me all you want and say it’s not true, it stays scientific facts. Yet, following the mode or not would be your choice.
Is that comparison enough for you now. I think I made myself really easy to understand.

I agree with everything 狂気 said

Back at you dodge master, but you know, you don’t have to answer. I think this conversation lasted long enough. We all said what we had to.
Sorry again for the delay, I have a job in summer where there are no computers. =)

@ qwkimmy: Well, arguing on the internet can be an interesting pastime as long as you don’t take it too much at heart and stay cool. =) It can also become a loss of time, but oh well, I had nothing important to do today. =)

I like to have a meaning-less and confusing discussion, but this one is kind of twisted even for my standards, how does one make a wall of text out of a "Do you like Hairy people yes/no" thread... but as general rule I'm blaming Scyfon, because he is kind of a tool so he is probably in the wrong here.

Also, I'm as hairy as Wolverine, not Hugh Jackman, Wolverine.

Not!!! I shave neck down and I expect the same from my man and no, I don't think it's weird. I hate the scratchy feel of stubble. But hey, maybe when I'm old and no longer into sex, I won't mind lol smile wink grin
