You know, I was reading Akumetsu just a while ago and it came to me. Generally I read a lot so a lot of my opinions and views on subjects are influenced by these things. Over the yerars I learned not to take on face value anything, to cross-reference, tone down (that goes to stories because most of the times although they are inspired by everyday events and occurences they are exaggerated for story purposes) and try to filter tthings through my logic and by comparison to what I know.

Anyway what I am getting to is that even after all this, manga/manwha are stories of eastern civilizations who have fundametal cutural polit and even life philosophies differences. So do you know any type of event of stories you read that are not real or are very exaggerated. I mean for instance like valentines day in all shoujo school stories or corrupted politician/people with power with lollita complexes and "meetings" with high school girls...

Well... with regards to the perversions of politicians and rich people.... the stuff seen in manga/anime doesn't even come close to what these freaks get up to in many places around the world.

Not too sure about the Valentines day thing.... giving chocolates is practiced, but I'm not sure how widely.

I mostly hung out with "seinen" and "josei" age groups while I was there.... so I wouldn't know what goes on in highschools or whatever.

As for philosophies on life and all that.... I'm not really a deep thinking person, but most people in Japan ain't much different from you and I..... the level of "open-mindedness" differs from person to person... just like any other modernized society in the world, I think.

Please take my opinions with a pinch of salt.... coz the people I hang out with ain't exactly normal by "politically correct" standards.

Well....

U know those oil-barons in the mid.east..... some of the very powerful ones own villas the size of your local park (or bigger)..... you know what they keep in there?.... women of various ages and ethnicity (many underage)..... some of these girls have been kidnapped as children, then raised and groomed to "entertain" these sick, rich fucks..... most of these girls never see the outside world and only God knows what happens to them when their "owner" gets bored with them....
True story.... and I know much more disturbing stuff.

I dunno where you live.... but don't be surprised if there's crazy stuff happening in your country as well.... I'm sure you've seen the news and know about the father who locked up his daughter and raped her for years (forgot which country but was in Europe).... He wasn't even rich or powerful.

In some South-east Asian country, there's this defence minister who allegedly had an affair with a foreign model and then shot her in the head and blew her to pieces with C4.

Max Mosley, the president of the FIA (motorsport governing body) was recently photographed having a "Nazi" themed S+M orgy with hookers (some of them still students)

In Japan, some nurses who care for the sick in the day work as hookers at nights just so they can afford their favourite male-host on weekends.

There are many people who're in Gods service (priests, fathers...etc) who sodomize little boys.

There are witch-doctors who go from province to province in China tricking young women and schoolgirls that they've been possessed with a spirit of misfortune and that the only way to solve the problem it to sleep with the so called "doctor"....

Lots more disturbing stuff.... but this thread is probably close to being locked or moved to the 18+ section.

Another thing I was wondering about. We see all the time idols(not in showbiz) in schools with their fan clubs and scenes where a lot of girls or boys gather to watch them when they are playing (if they are in sports) or wait for thenm in the entrance. Does such a thing exists? I can accept it for tv idols or singers/actors although I never quite understood it my self. Personally I can understand admire someone very much and maybe want his autographbut that's it. Following him, trying to find everuthing about him and whatnot is impossible for me to figure out. And here we see it as a stereotype for school stories and consequently in tv dramas even. So I am asking if anyone has been in Japan, does such a thing exist really? It s been baffling me.

Each person of this world have "twisted minds".

Slightest insanity will burst out.

The people who don't "twisted minds" are the ones inside of a pregnant woman. And the babies that are ready to be abort have the natural instinct to save themselves from a sucking tool. But its a sad thing they can't escape from the sucking tool.

The lucky ones that are born in this world will be given a gift and that is to be "normal". What about those who are not born to be normal? Now the machine called the "insanity engine" kicks in.

The mangaka is just projecting their own image of fantasy world they want. And everyone of us wants that too.

What if people can draw like a mangaka? They can express what world they want.

Are you High or Drunk??.... coz what you said, despite being morbidly true, sounds too corny for a sober person to say.

I agree with ughman, but it is my belief that everything a writer or a mangaka in this case writes - even in fantasy stories - are mirrored images from their reality enriched with their imagination; that's why when I read something evern farfetched I tent to believe that it has roots on something real.

It's widely practiced in Japan for girls to give chocolates on Valentine's Day to every guy they know (coworkers, friends, etc) so that they'll get lots of even more expensive gifts in return on White Day.
