@damnedman: That theory is flawed, but the memory thing isn't. It happened with CC twice, and neither Lelouch nor Suzaku gained CC's full past (Lelouch was still plenty shocked in 15), only glimpses of it. It's entirely possible, if not probable, that she wouldn't see the bit where he gains immortality, just the bits we saw her see. Considering it happened twice in the exact same manner under similar circumstances, and that Nunnally's expression changes after she sees it, it's not really something you can intelligently argue against . And even if she
did know Lelouch was alive, she would also realize that she would be incapable of seeing him ever again, so he might as well be dead, his persona as "Lelouch vi Britannia" died then, either way you look at it. She would despair anyway.
I've been over what's wrong with that theory before in this thread though.
As to the Death Note thing, I really hate the comparison (though saying Schneizel and Light are similar is a little more accurate.) Light, when it comes down to it, is this creepy sociopath that sits in his room eating chips and killing people. He doesn't care about anyone, and push come to shove he really doesn't care about the state of the world. If it wasn't for their equal strategic ability and intelligence, they would be polar opposites (heck, Lelouch can't even stomach killing someone until after the Shirley arc in season 1, and even then it gets iffy for him.)
And I just thought I'd bring this up here, because it's vaguely related to the situation- in the end, Suzaku's methods won. Lelouch started agreeing with him back at the end of 20 (he says so explicitly in the extended preview), and they follow both the Britannian and UFN rules in order to orchestrate the Zero Requiem. Ironically, if Lelouch had done what he wanted, he would've been sealed for eternity in the Sword of Akasha with Charles, and Schneizel would've become Emperor and nuked the world to rubble.
@Blak: Who knows really? Geass is full of inconsistencies in that matter. It's conjecture, but I think Nunnally, given her character, would be much more distressed at the fact that she can't ever see Lelouch again (and that he's dying, and in CG immortals do technically die) in front her. She'd probably worry about the flash later on. As to Cornelia, she probably didn't care because that "Zero" killed Lelouch.
