I prefer Completed manga. I'd rather read everything in one go than wait for an update.

Also I think I start losing interest after a year or so with ongoing manga ... It's happened a few times ... okay more like almost every ongoing manga I'm reading I get bored with at some point. (sometimes within a few months, sometimes after 2+ years).

But I've seem to have read every completed manga in my taste range. :/ ... well at least the good ones. which I normally don't reread things.

I like to read ongoing serious, because completed sometimes doesn't feel like its completed. It's like they just gave up and put something at the end. :x Although ongoing can lead to drop of project, but at least I can imagine and assume what will happen. Or if someone took over the project like try to revive it with their own art skills~

Depends on the length of the story. I prefer to read ongoing series if they're very long. For example, in the case of ToG or Kubera, I go back to the old chapters and reread them sometimes. I think reading it week by week and waiting for the next chapter is part of what makes it enjoyable.

But for shorter series (3 Vol. or less) I prefer it to be completed so I can read it in one or two sessions.

I think personaly for me that it doesnt matter. What does matter is the story. If the story is awesone I dont care if its complete or not I JUST WANT MOREE biggrin

I would rather read a manga that is completed because I am not patient went it comes to the scanlations. It takes a while for a chapter to come out, which leaves you feeling unsatisfied.

I prefer completed because I know that I can read the entire series without worrying if the scanlation is going to be dropped. Or worrying about long hiatuses. The genres I read aren't the ones that get regular updates every week, and its very painful waiting months (or even years) for the next update.

There's also my memory problem, where I often forget the details of the series I read or watch. For ongoing series, when a new chapter comes out I have to re-read the last chapter just to remember what's going on.

I also find that I like manga better when I read them all at once. If I'm only reading one chapter a month, I'm going to be highly critical of the chapter, and super upset if it doesn't go the way I want. But when I'm reading a completed series, if one chapter is lackluster I can just move on straight away to the next chapter, and won't even have second thoughts about the chapter I didn't like.

Depends on the Manga. If all series were something like Berserk when it came to updating, then I would definitly prefer to only read Completed ones. But if the Manga came out once a week, then I wouldn't mind reading on-going ones really.

Dem necros.

Depends on the length.

If the series is long enough, (double digit volumes) I like completed series cause I can reasonably expect a good/fairly written ending.

If the series is shorter, I prefer to read ongoing series because theres always a chance it would get better. (Anything completed at less than 3 volumes automatically gets a red flag)

If the year is 2005+, completed
Anything below, doesn‘t really matter as long as the art‘s ok and good story

Completed manga. Definitely.
I hate having to wait for them to update, even if they update regularly, like once a week. Not only do I remember all the little details more, I also don't have to deal with the problem that the latest chapter could have a cliffhanger for an ending, the kind that makes you want to devour the next chapter to see what happens next. And if the next chapter isn't out yet and I have to wait an unknown amount of time for it... it just kills the mood for me. So even if the manga is close to ending or just really really long, I still won't start reading it until it becomes completed.

ongoing all the way,
i like open endedness and the chance for things to go different ways than you expect as well as the anticipation of waiting for the next chapter although complete are good for blasting through in a day or two

Completed series.

I read too many titles at once that I can't remember them unless I read in one go. Also as mentioned above all the waiting kind of makes me lose interest.

Btw, thanks MU staff for putting (end) to series' last chapters on Releases page. Very helpful, though inconsistent.

Like most, I prefer completed. So many good mangas I've read are now forgotten because I haven't seen them being updated. Also, you don't know if a project will be dropped and I get sad because I will never read the ending.

But it doesn't stop me from reading an ongoing manga. Then you can talk to the community and discuss. It isn't the same when the manga is done.

Completed, hands down. Even if it's a really good series that I've been recced by dozens of people, if it's ongoing then I'm still going to wait. I really hate reading up to a point then realising there is no chapter after that, such a mood-killer and most of the time when I read the next chapter I'll have forgotten what the previous one is about.
I will download series if it looks like it's gonna finish soon though (as if there are frequent and recent scanlation releases), but will still wait until it's done before actually reading.

Well... either is good for me but i prefer long... *insert "that's what she said " joke here* series...

It is a plus if it can reach above 100 plus for weekly series (but i prefer 150 to be the quota) and 50-70 for monthly because it is a guarantee that the japanese audience enjoyed it. Though i cant say for all.

But to answer your question Completed is definitely the way to go.
