The new Nintendo DSi is coming out in April 2009

I actually do plan to buy it and will pray that it isn't a "flop" The price will gradually drop so I plan to buy it after a few months after it's launch.

http://kotaku.com/5057870/nintendo-announce-new-ds-the-nintend o-dsi

"The handheld's screens have been enlarged, and will now be 17% bigger (at 3.25 inches) than those found on the DS Lite. As for the rumoured additions, both have proven to be correct, with "audio enhancements" made to the handheld, while it will also now include a .3 megapixel (640x480) camera."

Does it seem interesting to you?

I probably will, only because My ds which i got on opening day, is kinda broken. The L and R buttons are unresponsive.

Depends on whether or not I end up wanting to spend the money when it's actually been out for a bit. I'm actually very fond of my DS Lite, so any improvements on it would always be welcome, but it's not like it's a necessary purchase.

Time will tell, I guess?

Actually, the inner camera is (point).3 megapixels, while the outside camera, or "the camera" is 3 megapixels. And yeah, I think I will get it.

I still have my GBA-SP, so I just might go ahead and grip this.

I just bought a new DS a month ago, so I think I will hold of on it for awhile. I hope they do fix the hinge problem though (it happens alot on the DSLite).

You know that they did agree to fix that for free, right? You can just send it to them under the warranty, if memory serves. Anyway, I seem to remember it (according to nintendo, anyway), only affecting some absurdly small percentage (less than 1%, I'd have to look up the exact number), so I don't think it will be much of an issue...

They seem like minor improvements, but since my DSlite is the handiest little bit of electronics I carry (I use it far, far more than I use my phone or anything else), I'll probably upgrade. Especially if I can store even more music on it. Gotta love DS homebrew!

I don't believe so. I have both a perfectly functional GBA and Regular DS, so I'm good. On an added note, I also have a GBC, but its buttons keep on sticking and it doesn't always read the games. XD

I had the same problem for my GBA sp and my DS, but you can try this solution. From my experience, it's only temporary but it works.

As for the DSi, I wouldn't get it simply because there's no GBA slot, which is important given the number of GBA games I own and still play. The camera seems a little useless imo since most people with a ds also have a cell phone, which probably has a better resolution camera than the DSi. And I have doubts about game developers being eager to deal with both a touch screen and a camera at the same time.

I won't for 3 reasons:

1. they got rid of the region free code. D:
2. I really love my pink DS Lite
3. I like having a GBA slot option.

As much as I do love Nintendo, I just bought a regular DS about 2 months ago, and the only differences are that it's thinner, has a bigger screen and a camera, and can access the internet, right? That sounded like a lot when I said it out loud actually...
