Well, if they're trees that actually *belong* to someone (in their yard, etc.) then it's not good to pick the fruit, though I doubt anyone would care if you picked up the fallen fruit (which can still be fine to eat, depending on the conditions). If the trees are in someone's yard, you could always ask the people who live there if you could pick some, or even offer to pick for them & with some of the fruit as payment for your labor.
