If you mean underrated as in they are never shown, I'd have to say Yamamoto's Lt because there isn't even a chapter on him like other characters (I don't even know his name confused ).

But if you mean underrated as in they haven't fully fleshed out based on development well yeah I'd have to agree it would be Ikkaku since it looks like others don't know what he's fully capable of doing yet and it's as if they look down on him. And besides the latest chapters that actually show him it seems as if we are suppose to forget that he was even able to do Bankai. Shame since he's my favorite character.

Yachiru going Bankai to save Kenpachi? WTF

Talking about nonsense, remember the motto of the 11 Squad? they don't save anyone and is no greater dishonor than to be saved, your opponent can fail to kill you, but when he fails because someone else helped you (that is a whole different matter).

Underrated? Keigo Asano.

Why?

Personality wise NO Character beats Keigo Asano, he is often ignored, but he would have been a much better Main character than any of the rest, his character/personality is one that doesn't damp/limit your creativity, he is not a stick of morals and NAKAMA POWER, he overflows with emotion and those kind of characters ROCK for any plot smile

Isshin <333333333 not only is he amazingly funny, plenty strong too. I wanna see more of his fights
Kiego
Kiego's sister XD she brings many lulz
Ukitake maybe? I love Daddy Captain and his face aldkj!

May I just say that I miss Yoruichi, chica please to bring your hotness back.

Quote from mattai
I'd have to say Rukia. She's not even a seated rank but she took out an espada, also despite being such a major character she's conventiently unable to fight for the first few hundred chapters

Don't you know females in Bleach need a guy to same them, they can't win a major fight without them :/

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/sanriochica333/bleach/ motivator6515139.jpg XD

Also in that respect Orihime I'm leaning to her having the most amazing/scariest what have you power but she doesn't do anything :[ I think she underrates herself though so...

mmmm. i wanna say yammy but he is stupid and hasent shown up in a hundred chapters, so fuck him.
hitsugaya loses a lot of fights, but he is really popular so no for him also.
my real vote would go to ganju or perhaps those two ridiculous messengers from 13th squad. they are pretty fuckin funny.

Underrated in terms of lack of power exposition, Yachiru. Yeah, sure, she grew up with Kenpachi, but she did become the lieutenant of the 11th Squad, so she must be pretty powerful.. also, watching her behavior while she's watching Kenpachi fight seems to hint that she's a heck of a lot more powerful than she lets on.

Also, Isshin and someone I'm kinda surprised hasn't been mentioned yet; Ryūken. Both men hid their true natures from their sons, but from what little we know of them, they both seem to be quite powerful.

Underrated in terms of lack of development of any kind on someone who would probably be really interesting, among characters we actually kinda know about, I'd go with Sasakibe, mainly because you've got to be pretty freakin powerful to become to lieutenant of the 1st Squad. Also, I think, the King of Soul Society biggrin (heck, the rest of the royal family too, for that matter).

I've been really happy with the recent fights in the manga (ch 300 or so and on, I think) precisely because they've been having a lot of power exposition (and character development too) of characters that have been introduced in the past, but never really developed. I think my personal favorite is Hisagi Shuuhei. One of those quiet people that ends up being incredibly strong. (Also why I like Byakuya, incidentally). Marechiyo also had some interesting character twists bigrazz

That's a funny pic, considering it doesn't really work.
You'd think it'd be that simple, but how long does it take for her to use that skill? It's a slow skill only useable when she's calm and has some confidence, which in the first episode/volume she lacked both. Flash step is faster than that move, plus it's Rukia we're talking about, not the best when it comes to fighting.

Underrated I'd pick either Chad or Tatsuki. Chad is just because he always gets whooped by someone way stronger making his progress completely pointless.
Tatsuki just because I want her to achieve a power of some sort, she's already able to see everything dead clearly so c'mon, give her a power already so she can go rescue Orihime on her own!

Actually of all the Humans that can see Hollows thanks to Ichigo the one that has been able to see them better is Keigo, he saw the Hollow invasion and the first menos attack (to with he assumed was a TV show being filmed... his carefree personality rocks)

Being able to see so many hollows without leaking a little bit of reiatsu means that he has a natural control over it (not like that tard of Ichigo), but after 340 chapters and no development all his potential as a fighter/character went down the drain >_<

The one that ends the Manga, simply because everyone will have lost interest and moved on by the time Kubo gets there.

She didn't lack both, she just didn't show those at the time. Also, the arrancar she used it against was faster and stronger, albeit smaller, but she had already known how to use that move since before she met Ichigo. And as for it being a "slow skill", after she cut the hollow's arm to free Yuzu, Kubo could've made Rukia order Ichigo to find some shelter, get the hollow's attention by attacking it some more, step back a few feet, and use it there while the hollow charges at her.

Going with the MerriamWebster.com definition of underrated, I'd have to say Orihime is one of, if not the, most underrated characters in Bleach. There are quite a few fans that constantly devalue her strengths and focus on the fact that she loves Ichigo and is "weak" (otherwise known as "compassionate"...but, that's just semantics). People seem to forget that there is more to her than those two details (and I don't mean her boobs, either). She's smart (evidenced by her grades and perceptiveness in regards to others, if not by her own, outward, behavior), compassionate, loyal, strong (emotionally strong; though her powers are formidable, she does lack the will to destroy others, so they aren't as strong as they could be), understanding, and, above all, human (as in, flawed, not perfect, but still beautiful in her own way, not, you know, the genetic fact of her being homo sapiens).

I'm glad someone finally said Tatsuki.
I mean for fcks sake, she's known Ichigo longer than anyone, and could supposedly kick his ass at karate easily before he turned into a shinigami, she could see Hollows just as well/badly as Chad could (and bite them in the tentacle, remember?) in the chapters when half of Ichigo's mates got powers, she's more suited to fighting than Orihime (and far less annoying), so what happened? Though the fact the she's been ignored so completely, even in the anime fillers where they were desperate for characters to develop, probably means that Kubo Tite has something planned if the story makes it that far..
but even so, the best part of the Orihime-disappearing-chapters was Ichigo getting punched through a glass window when he wouldn't tell her what the fck was going on. smile

Orihime's powers have more potential than anyone else apart from maybe Aizen; if she used her healing powers in reverse she could make holes in people with very little effort (which Im sure I remember her doing in the manga, but never happened in the anime so I might've just been drunk or reading a bad scan), let alone the possibility of completely retconning the story by rejecting the existence of anything she wants. Unfortunately she's too rubbish/unconfident to figure this out for herself, but in recent chapters you never know...

Also.. the one-armed firework-maker woman from the Soul Society rescue arc. Just because she's too cool to never see again. And while we're there, Shiba Ganju and Hanatarou for having the guts to attack Byakuka even though they knew they would be cut to pieces incredibly quickly... (this is a shouen manga right? guts=awesomeness=power) etc. Twas a pity Ganju never got to see what his big brother turned into...
Damn population control in mangas that won't kill off non-evill characters..
