I hate shoujo/josei for one reason and one reason only. The art. Stories are probably a lot like any shounen/seinen and I might like them, but I can't stand the art. They draw it to appeal to the ladies, and they do a good job of it in my opinion.

I think with me,it stated getting old the more I read of the genre. The cliches don't bother me as much as the way that they're executed---because quite frankly, most are executed in a similar fashion with a very similar setting---and the fact that there are too many of them forced into the stories most of the time.
Although I have a few romance mangas that I would consider worthy of a read,so they're not all irritating....just most of them =]

I don't hate shoujo at all, but I sometimes get tired of how cliche some of them are.

I don't exactly hate it, but it's not my favorite either. When it comes to shoujo, I just can't commit to the series because the storyline usually goes around in circles and a majority of them simply aren't original. What I dislike the most though, is the eyes. Those damn, oversized eyes that take almost half the character's face... I bear with it if the story is good, but usually, I just drop it...

Like what has been mentioned so many times so far, I don't hate soujo manga but that art style is making me want to throw up. seriously at one point I thought soujo ment 80's manga (till I looked up the term online), but now I'm more than sure there are only 4-5 soujo manga artists using different names (They even use that same crappy border). Dammit now I'm getting pissed thinking about this.

I don't really like stereotypical harem type ones, I normally try to avoid them unless they really interest me that much. But I do enjoy a few shoujo like Skip Beat!, Akagami no Shirayukihime, and Shiawase Kissa 3-choume. And actually one of my FAVORITE mangas ever is Natsume Yuujinchou!!! I almost forgot it was a shoujo at all!
I don't like outrageous plots that are trying to hard, but something that flows relatively easy and isn't composed of super sparkles is fine by me.

I hate it in general mainly because of all the ridiculous situations that the heroine can't seem to avoid getting herself into. Also, I don't like how a lot of the popular shoujos have similar heroines, i.e. tsundere, headstrong or bit slow on love.
But I don't dismiss every shoujo i come across just cuz it's shoujo. Though I've only really fallen in love with just one shoujo and that is Ouran, I'm sure there are really good shoujos out there and i wouldn't mind reading those
