sometimes.. If it's too long, i tend to ignore it. .___.;;
But if it's from my favorite mangaka, i read the whole thing.

I sometimes do. They can be interesting and funny. When it's a manga I waited for soo long, I sometimes read the free talk first, to heighten the anticipation...

Depending on how much I like the manga, I may read them. I looked forward to reading Kaoru Mori's extras at the end of each Emma volume, for example.
On the other hand translating those things can be a pain sometimes. Some mangaka write like doctors!

Yeah, I've noticed their handwritings when I look at raws or if some groups do not translate the freetalks but left it unedited.
And I did notice how almost unrecognizable their handwritings are. Hmm, well there are some free talks I do not read when the text is very small. But I'm wondering, does omake count as a free talk?

Not at all!
A free talk is something the mangaka said about how she/he did the manga or a random things.
Omake is something extra about the manga itself.

Quite a few omakes are about the author or are random things.
Anyway, most of you don't read them. why do I know this? Because 95% of them aren't translated... and 90% aren't even shown in the scanslations untranslated (these are all fake statistics, so replace them with 'virtually none' if you're a stickler for accurate stats). Inside covers almost always have a little blurb about the volume and what the author's up to, and how many of those has anyone read? They don't even take time to translate... they're like a paragraph and have furigana, but no one bothers to translate them. I'm just as guilty of it as everyone else. Hell, I don't even read them myself >__>;

What a shame... They're very cute. It's nice to know the thoughts of the people that wrote what you read...

I love the free talk ^^ Well, sometimes it's not anything interesting, but usually it's pretty funny : )

the free talks rock - always fun to hear what the autor / artist was thinking when they were making the manga - especially since i love writing myself

I do if I like the mangaka. But most of them talk about things I find completely irrelevant so I don't pay much attention. I also find them distracting when I'm reading something rather involved.

If it is funny and not to small.. there is some mangaka that write so many things in a page, that makes it hard to read..
I didn't read the scanlation and choose to buy a real comic, so that i can read eichiro oda (one piece) freetalks..lol XD

That's the only reason to even bother reading.

I read them after reading the chapter as it tends to get me off the mood. They can be quite fun sometimes - like minigames in a manga chapter =D
