Maybe try Kare Kano or From Far Away?

I would suggest Fushigi Yuugi, or actually any work done by Yuu Watase. Or DNAngel or Saiyuki...

Or maybe Ouran High School Host Club, or actually any of the manga published by the company Shojo Beat (I myself read Beauty Pop, Nana, Aishiteruze Baby, Vampire Knight, The Gentleman's Alliance Cross, Backstage Prince, Socrates In Love, and Lovely Complex).

I highly suggest all of these. All of these series are really great, but it really comes down to what you like the most ^_^

Hopefully I helped ^.^'''

Oh, and I second that Kare Kano suggestion!

EDIT: No problem, all solved easy no?
Euh... why doesn't this put last edited by.... at ...?

after you finish reading, watch the anime, decide it sucks, delete all anime chapters you have and go to sleep. after you wake up, read a few good parts again.
you will now be able to read other manga normally.

im reading hoshi wa utau as well!! i really like it but im waiting for the story to develop alot more-furuba was so deep, i really like those types of writings, ones that can stir up that much emotion. iv just finished reading it again for like the millionth time and my eyes REALLY hurt!! i dont know how any other manga can match that much emotion. and i just dont connect with other manga characters as much as i did with furuba.

does anyone know any other mangas that are similar-and cause that much emotional conflict??

i know the anime for clannad did...but i havent tried that manga yet

Well, Kare Kano and MARS get pretty harrowing. Hm, what else...? Oh, Bitter Virgin is pretty dramatic.

I believe Aihara Miki is pretty popular in this line, although I'm not very fond of her sort of drama. Then again, I just need comedy to balance it. Hm, and I think Peach Girl does a lot of teenage drama too.....

Otakubaybay has a good list there. Pretty comprehensive.

Oh, and I second From Far Away. I've read it at least four times all the way through.

Cat Street
Meru Puri
Hanatsukihime
La Corda d'Oro (especially if you like classical music or reverse harems, though the relationships are all subtext right now - it really has me guessing who she'll wind up with, if any of them.)

Anything by Yumeka Sumomo or Sahara Mizu (same mangaka, some shounen ai works, FYI.)

Oh, and there's always Phantom Dream or Hoshi wa Utau, also by Takaya Natsuki.
