I usually only look at it once if I didn't know what website it was attached to or who the scanlation group was. Sometimes I look at it because they put rewritten joke panels or scantily clad/naked girls on the page to attract attention.

I usually pay attention subconsciously every time, but I only actually pay attention if either the credits page is new or there is a rant

I don't... there are a few that I look at if they're interesting, but just the standard 'We're awesome, come read our other stuff, leeches suck, we need staffers for *lists 10000 projects that will never happen*' pages are a waste of my eye time.
Personally, I don't really put credit pages in unless someone else also worked on the chapter... I've been on well over a thousand credit listings, and I really don't give a hoot who knows what I do for what project anymore.

Only if there's something worth reading or looking at other than just the names of the people that are involved. I usually read the raws anyways so the scanlated ones aren't my only choice if they should stop.
If it's just names then it's boring. But if they have something to say about that chapter or just anything else in general, it's worth the few seconds to look it over with a bit more detail.

I'll watch just to make sure I don't miss a little clip of film they have at the end like in Sherk 2 (yeahyeah) i watch the credits cu they had that lil' clip with Donkey and dragon....but other wise I just turn it off or leave the thaeter...depending on where I'm watching it... it also counts if they have good music to or if they have like an interesting set up for the credits..

Yup. I do read them. Especially the comic ones. Or, well, basically if it isn't just some fancy words or some boring text. I don't recognize names though, just cause, well, that's a lot of names

I do... maybe like half the time? Looking at the credits though lets you know the Big Names in the scanlations world. Then it's easy street to hanging out and stalking them like they're famous people.
Or not whatever.
I think I care when it's people I know, or a difficult series, etc...
I mean, I've been an editor at SC for like 3-4 years. But how many people are recognizing my name here? xD 1? Maybe? (Snoopy doesn't count T_T)

Occasionally, if there is a comment about the release some random rant. I hardly ever recognize individual person's names unless it pops up somewhere outside of the scanlation.

P.S: If this thread is a repeat, you can go die so you know how much I care. :] (read: I EEZ LAZEH)
I'm actually glad that I wasn't around on the site on Jan 1st when this was posted. It sounds like a unkind stab (haha!) at humour, but really, it sounds, at least me, the rudeness level of "I don't give a *beep* what you say! " But I guess this is you, though I find it distasteful.
Quote from Razril
I rarely read scanlations now (and manga in general, actually), but back when I did I made sure to always read the credits page as a sign of respect for the people who worked on it. It's a habit of mine that started when I was a film student in college. It was there that we were taught to sit through an entire movie until the final line in the end credits roll, as a tribute to everyone who worked on it.
Or it might be sign that one hopes for maybe this small sign of 'kindness' or respect in return? I wonder if the film student in you cringes when credits are re-written so the text can be squished when show on TV so that it fit something else on the other half of the screen, or that the text goes at an unreadable speed!
Anyhow, I do end up flipping to the credits in a scanslation accidentally, unless there is something that actually draws me back to it. The art that is included is usually related somehow, and it is usually good. I tend to sort of skim the credits page unless I just feel like reading the nicknames since I might have read about the staff person through forum or a chatbox, or met them (sort of) on IRC (a long, long time ago).
By the way, does anybody actually go as far as cutting off credits? (Hey, that's what Tazmo has been doing! ) Like to not have 1 more extra image file (for space, or having to deal with or flip through)?
And for the person mentioning that there is a credit every chapter, it's probably due to each chapter being released separately. It might be even month or even a year apart, and there would be possibly a staff change since. And if a group releases 3 chapters but puts credits in all of them, I don't think that's surprising.
After all, there has been some grumbling over (usually) Shoujo groups that require N number of posts in order to get their releases, and some say something like, "Don't distribute them outside of this [their] site", possibly so that they could be the only source. You think they *wouldn't* want to tack their name on to a credit page if that's how they operate? I suppose we're lucky that no group has gone to the extent of tacking the group's name and all the staff member's names that brought out that chapter on to each page. (Or maybe only for an April Fool's Day joke?) I've seen some that did that, I think maybe they didn't want to bother with a credits page, but it was in the margin/outside frame, and wasn't included in a panel. Or for another group, it was probably because Tazmo was selling the scanslation. Otherwise, it might be the occasional group logo or two that doesn't interrupt the art.
If the credits page prevents staff/groups from building a forum and requiring N number of posts so that they feel appreciated, I think it's safe to say that we might even encourage them to have the page. (Some groups don't have it that way even now though, since there are groups that build forums and that pretty much seems like the only way it exists.)

Generally I do at least glance at them, partly just to see if I recognize anyone. If there's extra stuff (notes, rants, parody, etc.) then I'll take more time.
If I'm reading multiple chapters from the same group in one sitting then I spend less time glancing at each subsequent credits page, even though the staff may have changed.

No, never have. I've never actually spent more than one half-second viewing those pages, despite having downloaded what feels like thousands of manga. I don't even bother to read editor's notes at the ends or in the margins, unless they're actually related to the manga, because they're often just some guy's random opinion that I'm honestly not very interested in.
I appreciate their work, a lot, but what do random screen names mean to me? Nothing. Thanks for the scanlation, but don't expect me to do much else.
