So, what are your thoughts on the anime? Well, since I knew from the beginning that SHAFT was going to handle this one, I wasn't that worried. And seems my suspicions were right. Just watched the 1st episode, and they've executed it pretty well. wink

Kanako Miyamae: That's one pervy girl! With every girl she meets, her mind starts to wander off. I love her inner dialogues.

Shidou Mariya: The most interesting character out of them all, a guy who crossdresses, and he does it so well, haha.

Matsurika Shinoji: Awesome, stoic maid who likes to insult people it seems. The way she does that with a blank face only adds to the hilarity. D;

I thought the anime adaptation was really good. I think it sort of has a Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei feel too. The characters are all pretty unique and funny. Kanako amuses me. xD

Yeah the maid amuses me the most...calling Kanako a "piggy girl" or calling Shidou
"shitty bastard". She insults people without any particular reasons...its amusing! XD

Well, they are made by the same animation group, so that's to be expected. bigrazz

Watched the first episode. I found myself keeping skipping parts. The animation IS pretty good. The "jokes" are not. They don't interest me at all. It's quite similar to some bad/cheesy shounen-ai comedies which I felt wasting my time if kept reading. It's just that the guys are replaced with girls (and a crossdressing guy). Then I remembered why I had closed the book after reading some of the first volume of the manga ages ago. Some young readers may like it. But please look back in 10 years and see whether you still think the jokes are good. wink

Haha, they're not really jokes. More like 'ice-breakers'. laugh To have an easy-going mood throughout the episode. If you want to laugh, go watch the first season of Minami-ké. It's by no means bad, though. It's pretty decent.

It's not a comedy anime to begin with. At least, in my opinion.

I enjoyed the first episode. Lots of fun characters. Kanako is awesome. Somehow I hope her attention becomes fixed on someone other than Mariya, but I doubt that'll happen.

Still this is looking to be a great anime (and manga).

Well, technically it is supposed to be a "comedy" manga, but I don't see myself laughing. So yeah, I don't know what to call it. laugh It's a gender-bender anime mixed with Shoujo-ai and some slapstick humor? ¯\(O_o)/¯

Eh... it's not a bad waste of time, if you want to waste time...
I love how the start of the first episode was a trap.
Oh and that scene from Dr. Love's sig was pretty bold. Never seen anything like that before (save for Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny Special). Bouncy, bounce bounce.

the maid is the most interesting character i think... she looks so serious even when she insults other people and there is absolutely no change in her expression when Maria ripped her clothes off laugh

SHAFT is known for their experimental animation, and you see some similar risky 'shots' in the Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei OP. (I mean, bondage?! You got to come up with that. embarrassed )
