About Kakashi being dead: yeah, Naruto not sensing his chakra pretty much confirms it. But it's very messed up. Kishi better have a really good reason for killing him in such a lackluster way. It can't be for emotional effect because, frankly, nobody really cares very much about Kakashi in the manga. Nobody's very close to him. It's not like if , say, Shikamaru died. Tons of people would be upset, Ino, Chouji, That girl with the swirly glasses (what's her name?), Temari,Naruto, even Sakura. But if Kakashi dies, everyone will just be like" Man, we sure lost a great ninja." It's almost as if a neighbor you aren't very friendly with died.
Example: Naruto just basically said, with no emotion, "he's dead, right?" Didn't even clench his fist or anything. Sakura will just be like, "man Kakashi, that sucks, but I have to be strong for Naruto and Sasuke."

I hope pein uses him for a body. That would be cool.

I doubt Kakashi's dead...
or at least dead forever.
I believe he's dead for now while he has a chat with his dad and *GASP!* learns a new technique or something...go figure
But he'll be back eyes

just realized... his new move maybe be just something with the clones, hopefully it's something that needs clones but is really cool, but after reading it again i'm not 90% sure that he requires shadow clones for his new move, the last page at the bottom the hand sign he creates is what he uses to make shadow clones

maybe Kakashi isn't dead, just his Sharingan. And thus he's not dead, but only Tobi is, and thus his link to his past is severed.

Yes, I'm in denial too T__T don't want him to die.

But I like the idea of Konoha being passed on to the new generation.

It would get around the small detail of Kakashi saying he's dead himself. And so far no one else has said he's dead, just that his chakra is suspiciously absent.

Chances are that the mangaka is trying to be nice for once and giving hope to the fans and will end up taking it all away in the end...

I don't think it's the mangaka being nice for a chance. It gives us false hope that the guy is alive and that is cruel, not nice.

I don't want any beating around the bush. I want the mangaka to come out, via a character in the manga, and say he's dead. Otherwise, this is just delaying the inevitable and it will make it worse because we are all hoping that Kakashi isn't dead.

Frankly, I'm tired of Naruto's senseis/mentors being killed off.

been a while since i last posted haha.... well with that aside i do have to say i agree with that statement. the whole mentor killing thing is kind of cliched and heavily at that. i was sad about Jiraya's death... but bringing Kakashi along this time now is just to much. im wondering Kishimoto has some teacher issues or something since he likes to put them in situations where they'll possibly die.

i dont mind it much cuz now every time i read a new chapter I wont know for shure if the character will survive or not. To keep a story interesting it has to be unpredictable. B4 when ever i read a chapter i wold think " its one of the main characters he / she wont die some thing will happen and everything will be ok "
A lot of mangas end up being like that and it gets boring. Every time i watch / read a story with something like that i get extremely bored with it i got enough of it in Dragon ball / Z / GT where no one ever died for good.

id have 2 agree with u on that 1 most main stream mangas/animes (e.i. dbz, bleach etc ) never have a main char died they always com back oneway or another naruto actually lets popular main char die which is sad but at that same time grippin wondering whos next but i dont think kakashis dead or wont die i think the mangaka is just puttin us all on the edge wanting us 2 want 2 kno more

How so? The lack of sensing his chakra confirms his death? The guy has almost zero to zero chakra left...it's reasonable to believe that he's just unable to sense it. Even with that, he has never been able to sense chakra before, but now he can sense chakra so well, AND identify who's it is? Something doesn't add up there.

If he's dead, then Kishi should just say he's dead. He's been in almost every, if not every, chapter since his fight for a reason. Something says he's going to be around for a while still.
