There's a slim chance this could come off being an actually decent movie, and maybe even good.

And I wouldn't slit my wrist if Jolie did choose to play Faye if they wanted to go after the hard hitting actors. She does slinky and bad*** well {I know, I know Faye is more than just that}. Oh, well, its better her than Uma Thurman or Cameron Diaz no

@_@ I say don't judge a movie until you've watched it.

On a completely unrelated note: I do think he's kinda cute ^_^, but I always had a thing for aliens~

He can do it. He's an actor after all.

Johnny Depp is the only person with enough swag to play that role.

Jolie over Thurman or Diaz, but I think Charlize Theron could pull off a much better Faye (if you darken her hair of course).

Lol... I wish that was the case... sadly, Keanu is not really known for his "superb" acting skills...

Yeah like someone said it seems he got this role based on his character in Constantine. But I still can't see him playing Spike.

For some reason I can't see Depp playing the role either...maybe because I'm use to seeing him play darker roles.

Yeah doesn't mean he's a good actor though...

Makes me wonder who they're going to cast as Faye and Jet...the horror eek

If Reeves gives a serious effort into being Spike and they don't decide to destroy Spike's personality, then Reeves may be able to pull it off. Though Reeves being cast as Spike gives me the impression that the film will be more action oriented than the series was.

What concerns me more than the cast is the story and how the characters are portrayed. I don't really expect anyone to look like their animated counter-parts, but if they can portray their character's personalities then I'll be happy. Though to be honest, I honestly can't see anyone successfully playing Ed's part. She's too crazy and acrobatic for any actresses I know of. Maybe if they hired someone from Cirque du Soleil, but I doubt that.

Oooh! I forgot about her! Slap on the Aeon Flux wig (was it a wig?) and I think she'll do fine eyes

Guys you know who is Spike right? Neither Reeves nor Deep can do that part. At least I don't see any of them in the role. Fighting scenes from matrix were cool but for Spike, Keanu just doesn't fit. Deep he is one of my top five actor but has the same problem than Reeves, he doesn't fit the role.
On the other part Charlize Theron would be quite ok. I remember her in dark hair from Aoen Flux and she can make it.
Back to the topic I don't know any actor that would fit Spike role but I hope its not Keanu( just doesn't fit the image).
For the big guy part they might choose someone big like "the rock" or something.
Ed Its a mystery I can't picture anyone on that role either.

If I had to go with a known actress for Ed, I might think about Anna Sophia Robb or Dakota Fanning, but they might be getting too old for the part. They might be able to pull it off, though. However, a new-comer is probably the way to go for the part of Ed.

I can't think of who would fit Jett yet. Someone like Ving Rhames would be great. (It needs to be someone built like he is, at least.) Clancy Brown would have been wonderful, but I think he might be too old at this point. (I love his Kurgan in the Highlander!)

As for Reeves, he's already named as Spike because he's one of the driving forces behind the project. We might be stuck with that. However, at least the original writers and producers are helping, so maybe the story won't suck.

I don't think its good so much to look at body type. Actors are insane, and have been known to put on and drop weight for a role if they thinks its worth it.

And, if they use Ed, I think it might be best to get a new face. Actually, I'd love a ton of new faces, that way people wont automatically assume the worst.
