I'm an oldie form 07 who came back after a being gone for like four or so years because I get long peroids of dowtime that i can use for manga now. 🤣

Checked the date I joined right after seeing this thread, and apparently I joined exactly 8 years, 1 day ago! I've come and gone several times in between, haven't read much manga in the last 5 years except for rereading a couple of favourites out of nostalgia.

My first completed manga according to the list here includes Ouran High School Host Club, Hana Yori Dango, Fruits Basket and many others. as I had started reading manga in 2008, I think. I recall Ultra Maniac being the first manga I ever picked up.

I joined on the 01/30/10 (7 yr, 3 mo ago), my first manga finished is... OMG, this is a problem with over 50 lists...
I first used paper to note everything on, but it became to chaotic. So Mangaupdates was really a blessing from heaven, when I found it.

Even after dead, we raise from the ashes for the sake of manga.

Gosh, MangaTraders. I used to have this irrational holding on to the days of downloading manga. I never buy it (well, I have like 2 random Japanese volumes) so I liked to download it to seem like possession. That era is long gone...

Hey! We have the same taste! I remember being obsessed with Ultra Maniac at one point. I can't seem to reread it now, being older. As popular as it was, it doesn't seem to be too timeless.

Thanks for sharing, everyone! Happy whatever-year-versary! Seems like we have a lot of people who joined in 2007. Maybe it's because of Naruto? 😕 It's a big reason why I started reading manga and everything. 2007 was the time it was going into hiatus though so it doesn't add up, but I think maybe it was the time it was really becoming popular overseas.

Made an account in 2007, though was likely using the site without registering for around a year. Mainly it was to use the forums, then found it was really useful to keep track of my reads. Before MU I was using other manga directories I don't remember the names anymore (one was in french).

Well, back then I was a really active user since I had a lot of free time, now I don't have that much time but still check on updates and read some manga. Still check the forums from time to time, but it has been over a year since the last time I posted in a thread.

As for first completed manga scanlation I read, I don't really remember, though I recognize some of the ones mentioned in the opening post, as back then there weren't a lot of manga being scanlated I pretty much read all I could find. Now I get to choose, but lately I have been reading more novels than manga, maybe because the releases page is overflowing with them 🤣

All right, it was fun posting here, brought back some memories too.
