Puyo Plans to End The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan in 3 More Volumes
Manga creator Puyo posted on his Twitter account on Friday that he plans to end his The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan manga in three more volumes. He added that while the anime ended at volume 5 of the manga, those who might be interested should give reading the manga a try.
The manga is Puyo's official spinoff based on Nagaru Tanigawa's Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series. Puyo serializes the ongoing manga in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine, and he also created The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan manga series, which inspired an earlier anime. Yen Press publishes both manga in North America, and it describes the story of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan:
This spin-off of the Haruhi Suzumiya series takes place in the world of the "Disappearance" arc of the original novels, focusing on the high school life (and romance!) of a tentative and bashful Yuki Nagato quite unlike the one you've come to know and love through the usual exploits of the SOS Brigade... but no less charming!
Kadokawa will release the ninth compiled manga volume with an original anime on Blu-ray Disc on October 26. Yen Press released the seventh compiled volume in North America in March.
The manga inspired a 16-episode television anime series that premiered in April. Funimation streamed the series as it aired, and is also streaming an English-dubbed version of the series that reunites the cast from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
