A character that I've always liked was Kiri Koshiba from Beauty Pop, so now I am looking for someone(girl) who has similar character traits like her like a down-low type of person, not girly girl-ish, and is always there to help. If you know such character please post, thanks! 😀

I haven't read Beauty Pop, but perhaps Aikawa and Yazu from Bitter Virgin? They're contrasted by the girly-girl characters. And the manga is really good.

Well, there's always Ouran High School Host Club and My Heavenly Hockey Club, both of which remind me of Beauty Pop. The heroine isn't really girly in either, and they're both kinda apathetic like Kiri.

You can try Akuma to Love Song even though the main character is pretty girly but I think "character-wise" she is similar to Kiri from Beauty Pop

Switch(shoujo) by Mochizuki Karin is one of my favorites because of its heroine, Kei. She's not that girly, she is in no way silly, she's strong and she's willing to help her friends without turning out a doormat. It's a teacher/student romance though...
