To be honest, I'd rather watch Maria Holic than the anime. 🤢 I haven't read the manga though.

You have to understand the Gakuen Heaven anime and mangas are all based off of the original video game, and like the game changes based on "your choice" at the festival, so do the mangas/doujinshis change which character they pair with the lead.

I've read the manga/doujinshis and watched the anime. The anime is really slow, and it follows the main manga up to the point of the festival, and then it follows one of the doujinshi. I'd personally just read the main story/doujinshis, and not recommend the anime since it is pretty slow for little pay-off (except a lot of blushing).
