What happened to Uryu Ishida?

There is no point in denying it, ever since Sosuke Aizen appeared and brought along his arrancar army, Bleach has become a typical shounen manga, plagued by abnormally long fights with no real meaning behind them. So one of my many guilty pleasures is taking some time out of my busy schedule to watch all the episodes which make up the Soul Society arc (the golden days of Bleach).

While the adventures of Ichigo are enjoyable to watch, I actually prefer Uryu Ishida's appearences, even though he doesn't appear nearly half as often as Ichigo. In particular, episodes 43 and 44 where he confronts Mayuri and kills him (I still refuse to accept the whole turn into liquid state at the last second rubbish). What really got the adrenaline going was when Uryu removes his glove and reveals the 'quincy final form'. Sure, it may sound like the most cliche powerup in shounen history, but it doesn't stop it from being badass, especialy with the music 'Destiny Awaits' in the background.

So (sorry for the rant) what I want you ask anyone who has read this is do you think Uryu will have bigger role in the story? What about the Quincy's in general, even before the soul society arc there was a lot of backstory on the Quincy's and how they were all killed because they could've caused the apocalypse or something. Are Uryu and his dad the only quincy's left or are there more still alive? Do you reckon maybe Aizen was a quincy before becoming a shinigami which could explain why he's so powerful? (The last one is very unlikely but it is a theory I have been thinking about for quite some time).

Aizen being a Quincy...I like the idea but didn't he have a Zanpaktou during the Soul Society Arc? Or maybe to support your theory, Aizen has actually never been seen engaging in any sort of fight. Anything he's done could just as well be done with a Quincy weapon or item. Or, like you kinda said, Aizen is probably a Quincy trained in the art of the Shinigami, maybe like how Ichigo is a Hallow/Shinigami hybrid, Aizen could be a Quincy/Shinigami hybrid. IDK, just threw that last one out. What do you think?

My theory is that when Aizen was a human he was a quincy. He then died - One theory I have is that he was killed during the shinigami and quincy war. He then went to the soul society as a spirit but still retained his spiritual power he had gained while being a quincy. He then entered the gotei 13 and was able to master shunpo, kido, zanpakto and evertyhing else, gaining even more spiritual power in the process.

Right now though any fan theories are pointless. It's painfully clear now that most of what happens in Bleach comes straight out of Kubo's arse. The first 180 chapters that came out just so happened to be good.

mm. . . one question since I can't remember, in the story, how long ago was the quincy wars?

Is there really any substanital evidence to support your theory? Interesting and you never know. Kubo sometimes pulls the stranges garbage out; Yammy = Espada 0, anyone?

Perhaps Kubo has just forgotten him as he had with the other support characters (Chad especially). 😢

As far as I can tell there is no evidence thus far which supports my theory. My theory is not to be taken seriously, in fact the reason why i though Aizen may have been a quincy is because his old look (the one with the glasses) reminded me of Uryu, his dad and grandad.

At the very least my theory does offer an explanation as to why Aizen is so powerful. It also gives a reason a reason as to why he betrayed the soul society and is targetting the king, revenge for the extermination of his race perhaps?

Again this is a fan theory, not to be taken seriously.
