Characters you hate just because they're in opposition with the main character.

So, I've realized recently that there are characters that I really dislike but there's nothing wrong with them. They're not exactly despicable people and if they were the main character then....dare I say it, I might have liked them but I still can't bring myself to do so.
I was re-watching Nodame Cantabile just now and I re-affirmed my strong dislike of the character Rui (also a pianist whose hard working, confident, and talented).
There's also Mami from Watashi ni xx Shinasai.
Ran from Detective Conan (always getting in the way ugh)
And there are more but I can't remember them at the moment (might add on later).
So, who are some of your hated but not necessarily evil characters? Go ahead and spew verbal poison if it makes you feel better. 😁

You want verbal poison, huh? I could give you litres of it just by thinking about Kagome from Inuyasha... I had/have a strong disliking for her because of all the times she says "sit!" to Inuyasha, usually for unworthy reasons.
I might have liked Persona from Gakuen Alice if he wasn't so mean to Mikan, or Dai from Let Dai, not that he's exactly against the main character
he only ties him to the train tracks nearly killing him and beats him up a couple of times.
And there are lots from D.Gray Man (that little girl, for example, which I forgot her name) that I wouldn't fully dislike if they were friends with Allen.
I never came to liking Kirio from Enigma either. And I would actually love Jezabel from God Child if he was on Cain's side.

I can't remember particular names, but I'm thinking rather of a very specific, stereotype in romances : the friend from the same sex on the protagonist who's not funny and keeps on saying things like he/she would like to be in the MC shoes, I really think of these people as spams who shoud drop of the earth !!!!

Only character I know that fits that description was Rossiu from Gurren Lagann
But he's an anime character, for manga I do not know. Lot of characters I love BECAUSE they are in opposition to the Protagonist.

This kinda thing typically only happens with rivals in love or something like that where it seems like they're only introduced to make the main character jealous. The characters themselves don't have anything wrong with them and if it were in a different situation, I'd probably like them but I dislike them.
I'm drawing a blank here as to examples, all I can think atm is Asami from legend of Korra which isn't even a manga. I'll have to think about it some more.

on Ichigo 100%, I hated that other guy that was always a complete asshole to Manaka, and tried to be a white knight.

Try Sakurakouji Sakura of Code: Breaker, she never fails to annoy me with her being a pacifist, you should at least know when to kill..
Meh, I forgot the name of the other characters that I hate..
I'll surely post here again when I find another annoying Character..

I also hate Kagome, and all that Inuyasha ever do is protect her(he's just jealous sometimes though)
