This week, I'm repeating a poll that we did in 2011. The number of webcomics has increased tremendously over the years, so has public opinion on them shifted?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results
Question: What do you think about series names that are really long, i.e., have a lot of words?
Choices:
It's okay if there's a commonly used abbreviation (e.g., WataMote or Oreimo) - votes: 1213 (31.4%)
Don't really like them, but I guess I'll deal with it - votes: 896 (23.2%)
The longer the better! - votes: 107 (2.8%)
Don't care - votes: 981 (25.4%)
Long title are horrible and are hard to remember and say - votes: 664 (17.2%)
There were 3861 total votes.
The poll ended: June 1st 2019

I feel humans tend to like shorter names. It's like when you give a person a nickname. Usually it's shorter than their real name!

I don't mind web comics. Just another way to enjoy a story being told.

I don´t really see an option for me. I don´t care how something is published in theory but webcomics or web first comics usually have worse production values and quality than traditionally published ones. Web-only comics are further rarely good, like to a shocking degree.
It´s not just manga that has this problem. That´s why everyone was so surprised by the quality of the Injustice webcomic a few years ago but Tom Taylor and the main artist then went on to mostly do comics the normal way and the web first approach didn´t do the sales of Injustice 2 webcomic any favors. No opinion it is then. I do prefer digital to print reading through and it can do magic to digital colors.

Pretty straightforward poll, which is nice for a change. I like them in general.

These polls often lack a middle ground. I guess "no opinion" it is.

I mean it's just another media so if the manga (or any comic) is good then it's good mmm...

Like them in general, seemingly along with the supermajority.

No controversial opinion, here. Whether western comics or webmanga, it's just another medium for telling jokes or stories. I feel like the regulation around manga (not legal regulation but, like, corporate structure, with editors and such) helps the industry more than hurts it, which is why I'd never vote "They're better than manga", but... if the author/artist knows how to write/draw, the result will be good.

Japanese webcomics are alright. The art is often less detailed than in print manga, but if they are centered on comedy (as they most often are), they may be even better than some manga.
I say no to Korean webcomics though, and since that’s what I think of first when I see the word “webcomic”, it’s a no from me. No like. I’m a weeb, first and foremost.

I just simply like them in general, I mean I do read them just not as fascinating to where I react as excitement. But I mean, as long as there's a story and it's enjoyable. Then I'll read it.

No offense meant, but I'd guess the vast majority of people here assumed manhwa/Korean webtoons in regards to this poll. They were the pioneer of the medium (in the context of manhwa vs manga) far predating the Japanese efforts, and outnumber them at around 15 to 1 according to the numbers here.

Yeah, "like them in general", as has been said, if it's a good story it's a good story, the end.

Never read a Japanese webcomic, though that ReLIFE one's in my "maybe" list.
