Sure, there is always the possibility of it. But there will always be a spectrum, and true to the bell-curve, most people will fall in the middle. It really all depends on the individual in question, and quite possibly their mental stability before they started viewing pornography (or if something changes in the middle).
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

I personally think media can only make preexisting traits more pronounced, not create new ones. But Clockwork Orange was a great movie.

i am a supporter of free speach, free media or what ever you want to call... and i am not just referring to porn...
but as i was scan the porn tube sites i was a lot of the... i guess you could say harder stuff... and i started to ponder some of the things that womens rights groups say about how porn is degrading to women...
i always thought that it was garbage and that it was only degading to the people who perform in the vids... but it a sense they are right... not that the people watching it will think hey this woman is haveing sex for money so all women are like that...
but it degrades the while act of sex which the purpose of is to create a new life... it reinforces the concept of sex being only about the pleasure of the act and not about the true natural purpose of it...
any way porn is not realy what i created the topice for it was jsut the best example i could think of... it is more about how dangerous media can be as a whole... how it can shape the intrest and morals of a whole society...
and as i said before i am a suporter of free speech, its just with freedom comes danger and responablity...
i guess you could say i am just becoming aware of how strong of an enfluence media can have on my self and others...
sorry bit long winded...

Thing is, I already thought sex was for pleasure only before I started to view any porn material since I am never interested in having children. And I am not a porn fan even now.
I do.
I think it has affected me.
And pass that feminazi crap,
pr0n is equally degrading for
the guys in it as well. I don't
see why women would be in
any worse position in a mutual
act.

I agree.
And I also think that people are affected differently by media. Some more so, than others.
